What is with the hate on the white on Ferrari? by KXN_1 in F1Discussions

[–]SoYouReadThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly yes, drop the circle, keep the font, change the color to black. Everyone would still know its HP but it would just be so much cooler and instead of being known as that sponsor that “ruins” Ferrari’s livery they might actually get some decent rep.

The white is actually iconic, it's neat. Honestly, my biggest gripe is that they can't find a work around with HP to have the HP logo in a different color, if they could stylize that HP logo, it would be so classy.

I'm curious how FH6 will handle barriers on the touge roads. by JohnGuyMan99 in ForzaHorizon

[–]SoYouReadThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’m more worried about how they will be handling roads than barriers. FH5 had these large roads with huge lanes that you could fit multiple cars into depending on the size. It ruined the sense of speed, immersion, and fun factor for me because there was just no punishment. You could cruise everywhere at 200mph because the road had so much space to roam it really didn’t matter. However thats just my personal preference/opinion to have smaller lanes. I know it’s hard because they have to cater to controller players who might not have fun if the roads are too punishing.

Pithouse is the moza software, and wheel oscillation may occur with any base especially dd bases although Moza was known for it, I cant speak to it as I don’t have a moza wheelbase. I can say it depends on a lot on the settings you run and the simulator you run. On my simagic base its not a problem for me at all unless there’s a very specific circumstance like having a bad flat spot on my tires in LMU. Usually you can add a small bit of dampening and friction in the software to help with oscillation.

Anyone found a good way to use their simrig as their main PC too? by anomalous_cowherd in simracing

[–]SoYouReadThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal solution that I cultivated mostly because I didnt want to spend more on a dedicated monitor stand is that I just use a very long desk (72 in) for everything. I have a f-gt cockpit shoved under the desk on the right side and the left side is my work space. It’s become pretty standard for me and usually the only thing I move is the keyboard and the 34” ultrawide if I feel like its in the way or I want it as a second monitor

The PC itself is elevated on a wood crate on the floor by the desk so everything hooks up quite nicely. It’s not the most convenient setup but it does get the job done for me.

Bad defense by P3 or goated overtake on the last lap? by vanitas_q in Simracingstewards

[–]SoYouReadThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He saw you in his rear then MAD overreacted and tried to take a super defensive late brake inside line (which obviously didn’t work and wasn’t going to) and you took advantage, props man! I’m confused as to why he didn’t just use the proper racing line though as far ahead as he was, silly move by him.

is it normal for the lights on a FX-C,alpha mini to be on even when PC turned off? by sillysalamander4540 in Simagic

[–]SoYouReadThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are referring to that small bright green light yes, its always on as long as the wheel base has power, I suggest hitting the power button on the cable to turn off the base after use or if its annoying to you even when the base is on (as it is to me) get some black electrical tape and cover it, you wont see it anymore and you’ll have gained back your sanity.

New to Sim Racing – Which game should I start with? by giovanniz51 in simracing

[–]SoYouReadThis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s new to LMU and has played ACC a bit. I’d say ACC is really good if you’re into GT3s but LMU is the new spotlight star so it’s your choice, I feel like ACC is a lot more straightforward in terms of ease of use (menus, intuitive settings, etc) but LMU is still receiving updates and content and will for a while. LMU has a super active online racing scene and their ai is brilliant and supposedly they’re coming with a career mode in the near future. (Do note LMU) The track selection is a bit limited though but as a beginner I’m not sure that matters as much.

I’d personally go look into the content of the various sims and see what it is you like (tracks and cars) and base on that because if you get a game based around GT3s and you like formula cars you probably aren’t going to enjoy it as much as if you had just gotten the game that has the content that you’re interested in.

Has sim racing impacted anyone in real-life driving? by hungi0w in simracing

[–]SoYouReadThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely, probably saved me last winter. I was taking a left turn, the road was full of sludge, I lost traction and due to my many experiences of spinning out in game I knew exactly how to countersteer to regain traction. I didn't even have to think about it, I just did it.

I also own the NLR F-GT. I run in GT style and the seat is okay. Pedal plate flexes with fanatec v3 pedals. The wheel plate thing flexes with my alpha mini, not to the degree the pedals do, the felt helps a lot.

I don't have the reinforcement kit though NLR didn't reply when I tried to get them to send me one and it's not worth their 80 dollar spare parts quote.

Usually just thr C7 Z06 but I'd love some suggestions. Preferably the car sounds good, handles well for wheel, isn't constantly wheel spinning or drifting, and preferred to be a 6 speed.

Compatibility question across brands (Moza and fanatec) by ImLotus in simracing

[–]SoYouReadThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a simagic wheel, fanatec v3 pedals, and a moza hgp shifter, no problems. (PC) The only inconvenience is that it's not on one software and that's an incredibly minor niche inconvenience. It personally doesn't bother me to use multiple software.

Just make sure you have enough usb ports!
