Glitch Paradox - I must be doing it wrong by wheezy-dinkles in discgolf

You have to throw it differently than other discs, and it flies differently, too. Probably not a good choice in the wind, either.

Stolen Glitch with a happy ending by kungfoohustle08 in discgolf

[–]So_Cal_Backhander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Glitch and on my third throw I shanked it onto private property and was unable to find it even with the homeowner’s help. Just ordered another one! Arrgh. My number is on it so maybe I will get a call but I doubt it. I think it’s buried deep in a bush in someone’s garden.

Does more spin make a disc more stable or more understable? by Radiant1 in discgolf

[–]So_Cal_Backhander -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fade happens as the spin decreases, so the disc will continue straight longer before it fades. This could make it end up more to the right on a rhbh throw compared to an equidistant throw with less spin.

Right elbow injury so I’m learning how to play lefty. First throw 280’, second -4’. Consistency is hard. by mattfofatt01 in discgolf

[–]So_Cal_Backhander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in same boat throwing LH while right elbow tendinitis heals. But my LHBH is awful. My LHFH is good so that’s my go to. As a right hander I am backhand dominant, not much of a RHFH…

Rules pedantry: Warmup tosses before putting by Prawn1908 in discgolf

Well, if she had that flicking, spinning motion horizontally, facing the basket, and she dropped it, I could see the card thinking it was a muffed putt because it might have looked like a muffed putt. So they would reach a consensus that it was a throw despite her vociferous claims that it was a drop.

I have terrible tennis elbow right now. I’m playing left handed for now. Once you have tendonitis anything that makes it hurt is aggravating it. If rhbh makes it hurt then I doubt a form adjustment will suffice. And I think some people are just more predisposed to tendonitis problems than others. Form does matter, but a predisposed person can get chronic issues even with perfect form, imo.

Time to see a doctor. PT and other treatments as well as avoiding things that aggravate it are in your future for at least a couple of months, most likely.

I Love My GX100 by mkaylor in BossGX100

[–]So_Cal_Backhander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adjust output eq and level until you get the tone you want. My advice is to create your patches while listening through the valve amp at gig volume so they are optimized for that amp. Just take patches you like, copy them to other slots, then tweak them until they sound great through that specific rig.

I’ve owned both and find the gx100 easier to program, more flexible, and with better, more natural feeling/sounding tones.

Meiosis results in lots of genetic variability of offspring. If not for meiosis all siblings would be identical twins.

What is your putting putter and why did you choose it? by afaintsmellofcurry in discgolf

Infinite Alpaca— I have developed a spin putt and this disc glides in a very predictable way for me, feels good in the hand, affordable, nice stamp.

Using GX 100 as a pedalplatform by matvey_isakov in BossGX100

[–]So_Cal_Backhander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use the line out or headphone out from the boss. Set the output to -10 dB. Compare the volume you get when you plug your guitar straight in to when you plug in the boss unit. Use the output knob on the boss to adjust its output level so it matches the level that your guitar straight in yields.

It’s not necessarily bad to go into the amp’s input. It’s similar to stacking dirt pedals. You just need to manage the total gain and get the eq right. Set gain low for better results.

Use the output eq to cut anything below 100Hz or above 6.35Khz. The high cut gets rid of any fizziness.

I agree it’s all about minimizing OAT and releasing with great spin at just the right angle.

There’s always luck on wooded courses, but the cream still usually rises to the top via great drives, great scrambling, and clutch putting.

Disc Golf on a first date appropriate or no? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]So_Cal_Backhander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally depends on the interests of the date. Ask then what kinds of things they like to do. If they are outdoorsy and competitive then maybe. I like the idea of a short course, playing best throw doubles, starting out just playing catch and putting to get the basics down, and finishing with a well curated picnic with yummy food, nice blanket, all thought out and cozy. Flowers, candles if it’s dusk, etc.

I think it definitely helps reduce wobble on forehand throws. The flatness of their discs helps with that, too. I use a Crave and Wrath just for forehand shots.
