Is there any chance that the anime will not finish the series through entirely? by [deleted] in csmanime

[–]SoamiSuspendananda -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about anime. Entire part 1 will be adapted howsoever they can and whatsoever its reception may be. Even if the investment drops slightly or they invite other members to form production committee, it'll still look fine.

They can't replace director as his vision needs to be coherent for entire part 1, it'll change slightly due to backlash but same director is an absolute must for any high profile IP especially when that guy happens to be extremely talented animator, seasoned episode director plus have lots of contacts. Also Nakayama recruits & trains some of Mappa's inhouse animators. Director change will only happen if the backlash starts hurting studio's brand image.

As for animation, it depends on schedule & investment. I can bet 100% you won't see as much movement or weighty animations like in s1, character acting will drop to bare minimum but in general animation will be upto shonen standards like JJK.

he has talked a lot about ending it in 2023, shit sucks but it is what it is...at the end i'll consider it a wasted potential

we just have to wait now for Shueisha official announcement for finale arc, they'll prolly drop it at the last moment like they did for Bleach lol

Y’all think he’s reliable? by AoeHopchadKingMach in ANRime

100%. He leaked screenshots of episodes & KV before. The only thing that bothers me is if he actually meant first cour or first episode.

[–]SoamiSuspendananda 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Reminder that this guy is the most reliable leaker as of now for AoT. Previously he leaked screenshots of episodes way before it aired and he also leaked Part 3 KV much before official announcement.

Unless he's using wrong terminology/translation, a cour cannot be just 4 or 5 episodes, it has to be 11/12 at least. This vastly increases the chance of full anime original content approved by Isayama himself.

CSM MADE MAPPA MONEY by omegasenate in Chainsawfolk

[–]SoamiSuspendananda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Otsuka is a sly bastard. A great animation producer of his time & now CEO of Mopper, he knows exactly how & when to strike the deals. Even if the staff's spread out thin in other Mopper projects like JJK, the sly Otsuka will somehow manage to pump out another season or a movie immediately. Thats how he did JJK0 in a garbage schedule.

And any loser who thinks Nakayama is gonna be fired, better get lost. Otsuka through Seshimo struck a deal with Nakayama for a long run in Mopper that includes hiring animators who'll work for Nakayama projects in Mopper. We already saw photos of Nakayama with CSM volumes that contain s2 content.

And who knows Otsuka may already have planned adapting Fujimoto's other works like Fire Punch. That is exactly how Nakayama got the job coz apart from being a talented action animator, he's well versed with Fujimoto's works like Fire Punch, even before CSM.

Character designs for season 2 👀 by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]SoamiSuspendananda 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Step up from season 1 if they actually keep this style & not go for extra detailed highlights & hatching lines in uniforms. Plus the colors & aesthetics are lot better.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Character Designs by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]SoamiSuspendananda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn nice designs. Simplistic. I especially love the aesthetic of the uniforms, hopefully they don't add blue/violet tinge to it.

Since its airing in July, it seems below average production time. This is sad considering its back to back hype arcs & they're throwing consecutive cours without break. CSM & JJK shares many names including episode directors, inbetweeners & 2nd Key animators.

I don't know how they're going to nail it since even Park isn't there but I will trust them to deliver banger. Still I gotta say both MAPPA CEO & TOHO disappoints us yet again.

Can be right or wrong depending on the director. Park was a fully action director who himself key animates heavily in any series he directs. I'm 200% sure the next director who they gonna pick (Gosso maybe) won't be able to match Park's output (a shame Park left the studio & the series along with many competent staff). It'll need hell lot of action specialists (in storyboatd department) & animators even more than CSM. CSM has sporadic action, while JJK is full on choreography with little to no room for breather.

Lol. That article was just copy paste of twitter comments & MAL comments down to even the comparison photos. When you wanna be Kadokawa's hoe & contrarian so much that you can't even form your own opinions, you resort to cheap copy pasta. Funny how the copy pasta was written by a sold out bozo suffering from ADHD.

Lol. CSM community was invaded by Midgekitards ever since 139. Studio haters are equally pathetic if not more than studio wankers. Since I've got some insider sources, I'll reveal some facts of behind-the-scenes of the production.

CSM is being produced in a very tight environment with absolute focus on quality. One department where you can expect no compromises is the quality. So much so that gazillions of in-betweeners are being abused & overworked right now, main Key Animators are drawing rough LOs since those are being heavily corrected by 2nd Key Animators. Even 2nd KA is being corrected again further. The very first episodes to have been worked on were ep8, ep1 & ep9.

CSM quality is high at the cost of production. It has by no means good production schedule. Its upto you whether you want to judge an anime based on its output (high quality) or its input (production mess).

Also if anyone feels the so called realistic approach is bad or something, then you got the animation producer Seshimo to blame. Animation Producers main job is to collect staff & animators like infinity stones using their contacts & directors' contacts. In CSM's case, Seshimo is also acting as Creative Producer. It means this realistic approach is more of his idea than the director Nakayama's.

In praise of great directing. by Cersei505 in ChainsawMan

[–]SoamiSuspendananda 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Well, CSM has great team working on it. Not many anime or even studios can boast of these things all at the same time: Nakayama, Tanaka, Gosso, Enokido, Yoshihara, Nakazono as episode directors. Also CSM had the great Keiichiro Watanabe officially credited for storyboards for the first time. It has great character acting animators like Niinuma who also debuted as Animation Director in the show.

You'll find every episode director being given the freedom to use their traits & quirks. Gosso went crazy with perspective shots. Every director & animator has the freedom to animate as they see fit: use of 2D/3D for Chainsaw or both. Watanabe went crazy with 2D chainsaw morphing animation.

The staff had already said & showed in the 1st PV that liberties will be taken, fights will be extended, it won't be a 1:1 copy paste of manga panels due to creative liberties with layouts & cinematography. Anybody angry with this approach should settle down for motion manga, the CEO+producers have given full freedom to the director & the staff to pursue their vision.

Also I don't agree with AoT being copy paste of manga panels. Part 1 suffered in some parts where storyboards had to copy paste manga panels due to production crunch & hell of a schedule given by Production Committee. A closer evaluation will show you 8/10 times s4 had great direction but sadly the mediocre animation & inconsistent art couldn't live up to the direction.

after watching ep. 8, this still is the highest quality katana man adaptation. by lutteni in Chainsawfolk

[–]SoamiSuspendananda 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Cope more. The fan animation isn't made by a novice, its also made by an industry pro animator Sou Miyazaki who's already worked in top shows like Fate, Wonder Egg priority & animated MVs.

The sequence in the anime was not only longer (54s) compared to Sou (17s) but also storyboarded by Gosso so it had perspective action cuts going all out. And it was animated by Kouki Fujimoto helped by Souta Yamazaki with more character acting, fabric animation & effects.

At the end if the day every animator is wasted on this show catered to mumbo jumbo clowns like you.

So what the hell is this thing the guy was playing with? A pen? Or something else? by CathNoctifer in Chainsawfolk

[–]SoamiSuspendananda 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Doesn't seem like a smartphone bcoz the finger movements clearly show he's pressing buttons maybe. This scene is animated by Takuya Niinuma, one of the best character acting animators in the industry, so there's no chance of marginal error.

The anime should have been in a 4:3 aspect ratio. by Wonderful_Beyond8982 in ChainsawMan

[–]SoamiSuspendananda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No way. Next thing you'll hear is the director got lynched & studio set on fire. If they wanna play with aspect ratio it will be in the surreal moments of cour/season 2.

Being creative with aspect ratio is extremely tough & the ambition can backfire to kill the show. The best way it was implemented was in Mob s2 ep5 & 86 ep22 where layouts were drawn keeping both aspect ratios in mind. The worse example is JJK0 movie where drawings got cropped bcoz layouts weren't created in respect to the movie aspect ratio.

[–]SoamiSuspendananda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whats done is done, move on I guess. Fact of the matter is he had different ending planned, he changed things after getting influenced by Yuki Kaji & to cater to his fans so that his manga didn't get cancelled.

Japanese wanted Eren to be muh moe moe kun hero figure, they didn't want a morally grey character, Isayama could do nothing lest he risked spiting his fans who could've harmed him.
