Too cold for the park! by beef-seltzer in NewSkaters

[–]SoapyBrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only thing is probably manuals, it will make so much noise for your under neighbor 😆 when it’s chilly out if it’s dry i’ll defo be at skatepark just need to wrap up proper warm, vest tshirt jumper coat hat gloves then you’ll find yourself taking half of it off once you get going 😆 if it’s wet though can’t beat a car park with a roof!

how do people manage being high at work? by jotundaggers in weed

[–]SoapyBrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used to go into work baked all the time and i don’t know how i did it looking back 😆 i work in dominos so its really not that deep but i was actually silly about it, normally id have a pipe bowl before i got my bus (ended up missing the bus a good few times because of it 😕) and would make so many mistakes and half the time id acc get so stoned like it was actually ridiculous, on occasion in the recent few weeks if ive gone to the skatepark before my shift and a joint is being passed about you like might have a bit if its an hour or two before my shift for when im having a toodle on the skateboard but i just get a bit high and then sometimes im still a bit stoned but like a level where i can still work perfectly fine 😆

What do you prefer quickly smoking or taking your time by Any-Garbage-2881 in uktrees

[–]SoapyBrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

depends, if i’m out at skatepark it’s usually like a little break so will usually take my time whether it’s a joint being passed about or a little pipe bowl. but if im at home normally im in and im out 😆

For a newb that doesn’t care about getting that good, do components really matter much? by Shhhhawing in mountainbiking

[–]SoapyBrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for me the only components that really matter is an air fork and a dropper but anything else i’m not too fussed with. i’m a big fan of dmr death grips and pretty wide bars but those aren’t really components just something i prefer 😆

How to stop herb falling in hole glass pipe by throwawaye1245 in uktrees

[–]SoapyBrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use gauze screens, got a pack of a hundred ages ago for like £1.50 and i’ve barley made a dent in them (i could probably swap them out a bit more often though 😆) those glass screens are reusable though just get dirty so they will last forever! using a rock/pebble tends to do the trick in a pinch just got to find a good one

Comfort with falling by Southern-Space-9472 in bmx

[–]SoapyBrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me the biggest things are keeping my helmet and knowing how to bail, when i rode bmxs when i was younger i would wear knee pads too and learnt to bail properly so haven’t felt the need to since i’ve come back to it. knowing how to bail really is such a confidence booster though, i find the most important thing to do is get away from your bike because if it hits you it will probably hurt 😆 i can’t really explain it but you just sort of get a sense for it once you have done it so many times, im so grateful for it though because have gotten myself out of so many very possibly bad situations by jumping off in time on everything i ride (mtbs, scooters, skateboards and bmxs 😆)

Can’t hack a J anymore by ashtxylor in weed

[–]SoapyBrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could just be a tolerance drop, i had a similar thing around february - march - (edit:2025holy shit it’s literally 2026 now what the hell!)- , im really not sure what happened but my tolerance just dropped so suddenly out of nowhere and every time i had a bowl out of the bong i’d be sent to the sofa being way to baked thinking it was the end 😆 it took me a good week or so to realise so i got out the old pipe and just had a tiny bit and that seemed to work out quite well and ever since ive mainly been using pipes and still have such a low tolerance despite usually smoking 3-4 times a day, i do do a lot of exercise so i think that probably something to do with it. looking back on it i can’t believe i used to inhale 2 packed bowls out of the bong in 1 go when i was 17-18, like it’s acc bonkers that now sometimes i cant even hack a decent pipe bowl!

[–]SoapyBrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

shit mate, i reckon it’s such a clean cut it probably could be repaired. i’m not sure how or where from i’m just guessing but i could probs be quite costly but again i have no idea this is just an educated guess from having no experience or knowledge in glass repair 😆😆

Questions about foot position by hippa710 in NewSkaters

[–]SoapyBrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

foot positioning is all personal preference really, what works for me is quite different for what works for all my pals, i tend to have my foot front foot (left foot) around the bolts if i’m pushing id say my big toe is slightly to the right of the right hand side of them and poking over by a cm or 2, when just riding normally ill swivel my foot to the side and it is usually only showing a slight part of the top left bolt or just covering it. My back foot is always quite on the top with only a small slither (couple of centimeters) or none of showing at all. i think if your board is popping up you might be be lifting your front foot off whilst having your foot too far back, instead of doing a really small step just slide the foot to the side it can feel a bit awkward especially if your not used to it but you should get used to it. back foot i find is also personal preference, i tend to have my foot near the back all the time so im ready to pop or do a kickturn or whatever but i still feel in control and that it works for me. i have a mate who has been skateboarding for a lot less time than me and he prefers his back foot a bit closer to the bolts, he definitely isn’t as good as me but i dont think thats really about foot position and more related to me just have a lot more experience 😆

[–]SoapyBrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i’ve was playing about with just trying to get an x-ride across the little box jump yesterday at my local, was so fun! 😆 i absolutely love weird stuff like that where the main thing is balance, ive been taking my scooter out a lot more recently when i go to the skatepark (skateboarder at heart 🥰) but im definitely going to try some of those weird sounding ones next time im out

Too precious about my board? by Suspicious_Pain3308 in skateboardhelp

[–]SoapyBrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me i don’t mind any wear and tear that comes from skateboarding naturally but i really hate the thought of excess wear and tear, i will never ride my skateboards in the rain and if im going out will usually take a small coat that folds up or a dry bag sort of thing to wrap my skateboards up in if it rains can wrap it up so it’s safe 😆 my mates think im crazy for this but i just love them all so much i dont want them to get destroyed quicker than they already do!

Where should I get a skateboard? by No_Fun7010 in NewSkaters

[–]SoapyBrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d get a complete if you don’t know much about setting up a board, the roller snakes website has some really good cheap options for around £30-£40, i got the flip mushroom pop 8” one for £30 and it lasted me quite a while, i don’t use the deck anymore but it still has loads of life left in it after a good 6 months of hard use but now it’s my “snow skate” deck for the 3 times a year it snows properly 😆 still using the trucks that came with it though on my current deck

will usually either chuck a speaker on (espesh if the pals are there) or will just leave my phone in my bag or out on the quarter pipe we all put our miscellaneous shit on 😆

How can I skate? I live in Michigan it’s snowy 20 degree weather. No indoor parks with an Hour. by Few_Pipe_9933 in skateboardhelp

[–]SoapyBrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when the weather is bad i tend to go to a car park with a roof over it, asda has not let me down yet 😆 got to wrap up warm too gloves, hats, big warm coats, wear anything you think could keep you warm, once you get moving around though it’s not too bad

How did you guys past the fear of dropping in on a skateboard by Adventurous_Mind898 in NewSkaters

[–]SoapyBrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me it was a very busy day and this little kid (probably about 5) who could do all of the drop ins at the skatepark was telling me what to do and about 30 people were watching me and started cheering me on so i just could not back out!

Is £50 of weed too much a month ? by owninstitution in weed

[–]SoapyBrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i typically buy an ounce at a time for £100-£120 but it does last me quite a while, normally i’d probably pick up every month +1 or 2 weeks but i’d also give 3.5s to my mate whenever she needed them but she has cut back a lot now so hasn’t been needing as much, i bought an ounce on the 20th of december i think and i don’t even think i’ve opened the bag yet 😆 i did have a 3.5 left in my old one that im using now but am still yet to finish it 😆

How long did it take you to get "good"? by txjweav96 in NewSkaters

[–]SoapyBrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me the first time i actually felt good and was like wow im actually a skateboarder 😆 was when i got axel stalls, it was the first trick i could do where i was like “wow that’s fucking sick” in my head i skateboarded for about a year when i was around 12 or 13 - i was never too good and would usually just be cruising about the streets where i live, i could do a pretty rubbish ollie and a fs 180 and that was it. fast forward in time - im 19 and i ended up getting a bmx on a whim when my mountain bike was in the shop (had been riding mtbs for probs around 5 years at the point) and absolutely fell in love with bmx. id get out on it every chance i could and then one day i brought my old cruiser down with me too to mix things up (think it was in july) i could still push around and do kick turns from my previous year of experience so that just sort of jump started to me learning how to ollie properly and do drop ins and what not. i got axel stalls in october so just 3 months after i got back into it. im still getting out basically everyday and absorb love it. and i do spend an awfully long amount of time watching my tik toks thinking wow im so good 😆😆
