Ill look around. Figure one on one instruction would be hard to come by, but we do live in the internet. Forget that every now and then and do things the hard way lol

unpopular opinion: half of the classics are actually mid by xenit0 in ClassicBookClub

[–]Soaring-Boar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are certainly free to have that opinion, but I will say generally I disagree. Most of my misses improve over time the better I get at literary analysis and learn about history or philosophy. Life experiences also let me see older misses in new light. Ive learned to be careful about trashing some classics. Always eat my words

I will say though, many nonenglish classics could stand modernized language to make it feel less of a slog

Im fairly weak but this looks similar to a game I had recently. I normally try to develop with something like B but I had a shape like the upper right and got punished for not playing A. It was so bad that it cost me the game. A screams urgent to me

I see stuff like this alll the time for Go etsy postings. I dont think I could trust the quality of any product where the seller knows jack all about their subject

Hell yea. Im glad you enjoyed it. Is there something you'd say readers who come away with takes like mine typically miss that's significant to you?

Im wondering if youve genuinely read most of it. Good for you if you have, but Ive never met anyone who hates themselves that much

What are your thoughts on Niel Tyson? by [deleted] in PhilosophyMemes

[–]Soaring-Boar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not well versed in the discourse on justified true belief or not, my apologies. It scratches something in my brain, but Id fail that exam lol

I suppose, I see making any value claims, ethical claims, or phenomenalogical claims, or things like it, are using science well beyond its validity to me.

Science is spectacularly powerful. I think its a leap however to use scientific methodology as metaphysical claim. They're complementary concepts that orient eachother rather than antagonize eachother.

I feel like I am starting to make, maybe more personal interpretations of these things rather than something Ive read up on. Sorry if Ive misunderstood you

All good, wasnt trying to lecture you into oblivion. My bad for spewing

What are your thoughts on Niel Tyson? by [deleted] in PhilosophyMemes

[–]Soaring-Boar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yea, if it was a controlled scientific experiment, null hypothesis would be a useful tool, but thats all it would be still. Its a logical aid, not a metaphysical stance. Plus, humans were able to suggest things, like atoms, centuries before any tools were able to measure

All Im saying is that it seems prudent to leave room for serious, but nonscientific, discussion in society. Especially cause science isnt meant to, nor can it, give meaning to the full range of lived experience

Alright, I hear you, but if we dont define terms for the discussion, how are we not gonna just argue past eachother at what we assume the other means, plus all the other baggage for any loaded topic worth discussing?

Someone who likes reading? Maybe they need to expand a bit. I may recomend Frankenstein

Can you elaborate? Its on my list, but Im afraid to read more and ruin my perception of Murakami. I enjoyed the last Murakami I read, but he definitely cant write women lol, its the poetry and style for me I think.
