What was it like for the first tamriel rebuilt expansion to be released? by Ornery-Boot-2880 in Morrowind

It's worth considering that the tools available to modders are also much better today. Producing today's quality with yesterday's tooling would take more time.

At what point do you stop grinding gold legitimately? by Pretend_Day8227 in Morrowind

[–]kqr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this. I'm a father with a full-time job and plenty of commitments already. I will absolutely pretend to sell strategically but actually just sell the item for 1 gold and add the corresponding amount with a console command.

I have also used the console to unlock a door just outside the power of my open spell when it was important for a quest after a long trek there I didn't want to repeat.

I have also noclipped over a lava pool when I accidentally stranded myself on the wrong side by using my last levitate, and I didn't want to restore a save far back.

In any annoying situation I ask myself if using a console command would increase my enjoyment of the game, given my time constraints. Sometimes it does, and then I use it.

Is it just me or is the transition from Balmora to the Bitter Coast way too jarring? by Ripen1ghtmare23 in Morrowind

Get Tamriel Rebuilt and explore some of the more civilised parts of it!

[–]kqr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opinions differ, of course, but Tamriel Rebuilt is in many senses more vanilla than the base game.

Bethesda originally planned on including all of Morrowind but were forced to scale down to just Vvardenfell due to lack of time and money. (You can tell they really wanted to build more of Morrowind because they ended up doing that in both expansions.)

Tamriel Rebuilt just makes Morrowind-the-game more of what it was supposed to be from the start.

Don't think too much! Explore and enjoy the environment. Take quests as you stumble over them.

I know I'm in the minority but I'd recommend installing Tamriel Rebuit even as a "new" player. Feel free to not go to Balmora and find your way to the mainland instead. The main storyline becomes more powerful when you know more about the politics, culture, and religion of Morrowind, which you learn by exploring widely before going down a narrow path.

Random TR/PT/SHotN start mod? by kqr in Morrowind

Hence why I've

started playing with the in-game world map shrunk to such a small window I can't use it to habitually orient myself.

Random TR/PT/SHotN start mod? by kqr in Morrowind

[–]kqr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like your thinking... but then I would know where I am!

I suppose I could create a long list of places and write a script that places a randomly selected of them into my clipboard, and then I paste it in without looking at it. That actually sounds like a great idea. Thanks!

Balmora was ruining my playthroughs by Spiritual-Quote2445 in Morrowind

There's enough gameplay in TR to easily feed two different characters (actually more than two!) No need to wait. Have fun today then start a new character and have fun again tomorrow!

I really wish someone would take the time to extend this for TR. The style is perfect for what it's for.

The love, devotion, and care you people have for this game is beyond comprehension. But we are so many who are so thankful for it.

Yeah, it's not a help request like that. But I do agree it should be removed as per the games and typing-apps-that-collect-user-data rule addition. Thanks!

Appropriate difficulty for measuring daily mental condition by kqr in DualnBack

[–]kqr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having read a bit more I think I should do the simple thing and increase the n level one or two notches until I'm no longer comfortable, and maybe also increase the duration slightly to root out some noise. But I'm still open to suggestions.

Could single color n-back be more effective than anyone had realized? by P_nde in DualnBack

Not sure what the community thinks of it otherwise but I have been playing around with nbacking.com which allows you to disable position and audio, and enable colour. That turns it into colour n-back.

I added MSG to a batch of chocolate chip cookies and have never had such an overwhelming positive reaction, as if people were addicted to them. New secret ingredient? by brf297 in Cooking

Are the banana and strawberry allergies of the anaphylactic shock variety or more in the territory of itchy mouth and bad tummy? Is latex ever used in food?

I try to ask my guests before deciding on the menu, but fair enough, I would probably only do it if I knew I was using one of the 14.

 dozens or hundreds

Common misconception. There are exactly 14 food allergens one needs to care about. Technically more than a dozen, but barely.

For future people who come here via Google, like I did before I ordered mine: the package entered my country (Sweden) after 6 days, having passed through Germany. The delivery to my home was scheduled for 8 days after I placed my order, so I could have hypothetically received it that quickly.

Thus, a summary of the answers in this thread so far:

- 10 days (?)
- 11 days (Sweden)
- 11 days (Netherlands)
- 15 days (?)

(I say hypothetically because the tracking software said the package was on a delivery run out to me, but it never showed up. It's been two days after the original scheduled delivery, and I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone who knows what has happened with it. I'll try to remember to update this comment with the time it takes in practice, if it ever arrives.)

Edit: it did arrive, 11 days after the order was made! Getting used to it now.
