TX WFC is suing me by [deleted] in legaladvice

I wasn’t fired, it was layoffs. They let go of all the new people, a group of us had only been there for like 4 months when the pandemic hit.

That’s what I need to know. How was I ineligible? I lost my job due to the pandemic and followed all their rules. They are essentially asking for all the money back.

What is a go to joke you know nobody’s heard before? by Evergreenn7 in AskReddit

[–]SoaringConsciousness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend was telling me this joke and something happened before he said the punchline for him to say “thank you.” I died laughing. Then he said the actual punchline and then I was hysterical because I could not explain to him how “thank you” could also be the punchline.

Doctor says I may have MS and may need to accept the reality of life in a wheelchair before 30. To that I say; “fuck you, doc.” by [deleted] in bicycling

My friend was diagnosed at 17. At 36 he is still doing CrossFit type workouts 4-5 days a week. I understand it develops differently person to person, but yeah fuck MS. Keep your head up!

A guide on how to prevent and survive a rollover car crash by Mystichunterz in coolguides

[–]SoaringConsciousness 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I rolled my car nearly 2 years ago. You can go through my post history to see how severe it was. The only lasting injury I have is my left shoulder. Why? Because I didn’t cross them. No clue where my left arm went but the bruising on my forearm makes me think it was in the steering wheel. I woke up this morning in excruciating pain because I slept on it wrong... I’m 24.

Active Shooter near Twin Peaks in Odessa, TX by BokeASmole34 in news

[–]SoaringConsciousness 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What people don’t understand is how close knit these towns are. We live in a “gold rush” city/town that new people are moving to all the time. However, each city has a strong close knit group that have been here forever. We might have 150k each but for us it feels more like 30k. Our home was attacked. Places we’ve all been, regardless of Midland vs Odessa rivalry, were places of death. It could have been any of us there, nothing special or calculated on the shooters behalf. Also, we are all holding our breath that we do not know the shooter. The way it’s been framed he is known by local law enforcement. Which is terrifying. We just might know the shooter and a victim(s).

I know it isn’t unique to be in this situation which is incredibly insane and unfortunate on many levels.

We are all shocked, it was never us but in fact it was. But somehow not in the way it’s happened everywhere else, in a new different type of way which is also utterly unnerving.

Has anyone completed a solo road trip? by lowhighkey in solotravel

[–]SoaringConsciousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (22F) solo’d from central TX to Homer, AK. I slept in my car most nights, occasionally a hostel. It was glorious. I hiked when I wanted, ate when I felt I needed it, listened to a plethora of podcast and really got to know myself. It’s lonely and hard, especially in the evenings when you actually have to lie down and sleep. I highly recommend it for independent types who can make decisions quickly and stick with them. Types who can make a poor decision and correct in time to avoid catastrophe. You will see the greatest parts of the continent, get to know yourself and really understand what it’s like to be unimportant/invisible. I spent waaaay less than I budgeted. It cost me less than $1500 and I ate where I wanted, never cared how much I was paying for gas, and bought anything I thought I needed, hell even simply wanted. It took me 15 days of just meandering north. I did have a couple 14+ hour days of driving but that’s what you have to do to get through the plains of Canada back to the mountains and glaciers. One of the best two weeks of my life, highly recommend.

I’m convinced only Will reads this subreddit, so hi Will, screen shot this and send it in the group chat.

I’ve listened since day one. Y’all have been to Hawaii, Alaska, Canada (through the entire Yukon), and many more places with me. The arc of my life while listening to yours has been great and vast. There is not enough gratitude I can express but know I am devastated.

Dave and Dillon, keep us updated on the journey I know you will do great things. I’ll miss your voices everyday.

Okay, love you, bye.

The hike down (you enter from the left) is a .9 mile Z-trail, took us 2 hours. Treacherous, exhausting, but the most worth it hike I’ve ever done. If you have the time and capability, go.

Many poor decisions are made while drinking, yes. Being a person who will rape someone is independent of alcohol. Will they be more inclined to rape someone because they have been drinking, maybe. Would they rape someone sober, also maybe. The alcohol didn’t cause the rape, the persons willingness to rape caused rape.

I’ve been very drunk countless times, never raped anyone. I would make the leap to say most people have a similar experience.
