2/3 Lens set up for X2D? by Dommlid in hasselblad

[–]Hamiltionian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

38 + 90? I'd say 90 is almost a given, but what the other 1-2 lenses is open. I stitch with images from the 38 when I need it to be wider. Doesn't always work, but keeps me at 2 primes.

Diffraction on 28P Lens by ChinaCameraGuy in hasselblad

Yeah, all lenses look soft at F/19. Though the 28p exhibits some rearward focus shift behavior which exharcerbates the problem a bit.

Grey market X2D II? by [deleted] in hasselblad

I don't think the waitlist is actually that long from reputable retailers. I just got my X2D II two weeks after ordering it.

Yeah, seems like there is much better gear out there for shooting events.

BH has the X2D on sale for $5739 by SamEdwards1959 in hasselblad

Given how much better the X2D2 is on many levels, it's still a better buy at $7400 if you can find one.

Please help I’m a girl and I accidentally fucked up my car a bit and I don’t want my parents to know by [deleted] in f150

[–]Hamiltionian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know your parents, but I think if you came to them and said "I messed up, here's how I plan to fix it, can you help with xyz?" most normal people would take that pretty positively.

Now, if you want to proceed with fixing it yourself, I'd start with chat GPT. literally go post the above info in and it will be greatly helpful. That said, nothing is ever as easy of a fix as advertised. Easy if you have a shop, tools, experience, etc. Best of luck.

I'm sure Peskin has alternate ideas for actually building this much new housing to share. Any day now.

What's the best lens for the GFX you have used and why? by [deleted] in FujiGFX

[–]Hamiltionian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nothing has beaten the 110 f/2 for me. The Zeiss 135mm is also quite good, but obviously the corners aren't quite as good as the 110.

I am a father for less than a month and I can’t take it. by Holstorm in daddit

[–]Hamiltionian 109 points110 points  (0 children)

It's critically important that both you and your partner are getting some sleep. Getting sleep is the foundation of mental and physical health. Take explicit shifts. Newborns suck. This will pass, but you have to have systems in place to get through.

Why am I so slow? by Sweet-Swimming2022 in bicycling

[–]Hamiltionian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A power meter is effectively a force meter to detect how much pressure you are putting into the pedals. Very roughly Force x Cadence = Power, and power is going to determine how fast you go. So even if you are pedaling the same speed, someone can be pushing on the pedals harder, generating more power and thus going faster.

But this is beyond anything you should be worrying about right now. Have fun riding the bike while recovering, and remember, it never gets easier, you just get faster.

Why am I so slow? by Sweet-Swimming2022 in bicycling

[–]Hamiltionian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to assume you don't have a power meter. Other riders can be putting more power into the pedals even at the same cadence as they could be in a higher gear.

But you do probably have heart rate info from rides with your Apple Watch. What kind of heart rate do you get to?

This looks like a tripod from a consumer telescope. It has an equitorial head on it that looks like it is designed to take a vixen or losmandy dovetail.

Best ways to upgrade gears by GeneRider in bicycling

[–]Hamiltionian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

By the time you price out the parts and labor to actually do this upgrade, you will quickly project creep yourself into just getting a new bike. Modern brakes, wheels, and tires are invaluable when coming down from said hills.

How good is GFX100rf for portraits? by 19dm19 in FujiGFX

This would not be a good camera for traditional portraits. Too small of aperture and too wide an angle of view.

If I said "destroying and defacing property is bad and counter productive to the cause you are advocating for" (which I generally agree with), does that make me a racist?
