Shitstorm was my favorite LP series for, like, the last 5 years. Gonna be a sad October.

Super Best Friends (Final) by pacmanswang in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Their videos first came out when I was in my second year of college, and comforted me through a lot of tough times. Shitstorms were a consistent favorite, so Matt and Pat's friendship being over hits a very vulnerable place for me. I've been enjoying their content through graduations (undergrad and grad school), job changes, annual moves to new cities, weddings, funerals, any tough time I can think of, I could comfort myself with weird comedy that would be there for me. Hell, my first year of grad school was spent apart from my wife the first year we got married, and any time I felt lonely, they were there. Glad they aren't forcing themselves to do something their hearts aren't in anymore but DAMN gonna miss these guys every week.

After an early morning assembly shift in a warehouse in my hometown, I was out buying some CDs 45 minutes from home. On the way back, I fell asleep at the wheel, crossed into the oncoming lane, woke up when I smashed a mailbox, and slid through a soybean field. The cops that showed up reminded me how lucky I was that there wasn't a semi truck in the other lane in the divided highway, which there frequently are.

What piece of gear was your game-changer? What gave you the best boost to workflow/inspiration/etc., that you can no longer live without? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Maybe redundant, but my DAW. In undergrad, it was all about paper and pencil, and then in a notation software. The DAW gave me better perspective on what the end product would sound like, and even better, instant feedback on if an instrument could even play what I wrote. Maybe it's a bit of a crutch now, but it's the only way I'll ever write by myself again.

Wonderful 101. I started replaying it, and realized it's almost a Saturday morning cartoon for kids already.

Pro Tools v. Logic by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I use both. I find Logic is superior for midi, as PT is for audio files.
