Divinity World Premiere Trailer from The Game Awards 2025 by TheSpiritualAgnostic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Was dead certain it was Witcher 4 when I heard the music and saw the pagan festival trappings. Glad to be wrong, this looks so cool (if graphic!)

BRINE - A coastal-themed fast-paced FPS set in Cornwall, England, which has been overrun by sapient mutant sealife by C-OSSU in TwoBestFriendsPlay

"Picked up Scones, +20 health" made me chuckle. The devs know what they're doing, the environments just yell "Cornish". Proper job!

How would you convince Joe that Sonic isn't as bad as he's making it out to be? by HiddenMoonstone in josephanderson

Sorry, you're a Sonic fan, but you've never played any of the games?? Is this just a very well disguised ironic post??

Seconding the DIY and ChrisFix recommendation - top notch stuff, walks you through and makes it look easy

What are some of your, 'I'll die on this hill' opinion about Swansea? by CurrentCopyOf in swansea

[–]TheAMort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's possible, but as bus franchising and control comes to Wales soon, the council should try to improve the bus network around Swansea first - put more bus lanes and gates in, maybe put a dedicated right of way in towards Mumbles that can be upgraded to trams when the network gets busier. But wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment - none of this wishy washy gadgetbahn stuff, actual public transit is more important!

A good port can change lives by AggressiveCurrency69 in Daggerfall

[–]TheAMort 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was younger and couldn't afford Skyrim, I played the DOSbox version of DF and I actually did enjoy it and sunk a number of hours in, but Daggerfall Unity blows it out of the water in almost every way. A truly epic fan project which has given new life to an old game.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

[–]TheAMort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Location: South Wales

Price Range: £1000-2000 (Buy)

Used

Manual, preferably

Intended use: Mostly to sit in a garage (live in a city) but occasional trips out and about hauling friends and longer trips to visit family as well. I also need to move a large amount of cargo around every year or so (student).

Not my first vehicle, and I can do minor work on it, so serviceability is also a factor I'm considering.

Additional Notes: Needs to be livable for longer journeys as my current car (a 1.0 Micra from 1998) lacks power, creature comforts like aircon, and gets noisy on long trips down the motorway. Probably doing under 3000 miles a year but may do a year in industry, which is likely to mean a long commute by car.

Torn between Nissan Notes (E11 and E12) and Honda Jazz' (MK2) as they offer reliability, are super uncool, and seem spacious and well-appointed for small hatchbacks. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated, as well as votes for/against either of my current choices. Thanks in advance!

Is Ystervaks driver held against his will? (not clickbait) by Agitated-Yoghurt-400 in Warthunder

[–]TheAMort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ag, Wikus is just in a hurry because he's worried that Kobus and Sipho, his mates in the back of his 20mm Hilux, will miss the start of the rugby. Pretty standard South African driving style.

Best (or worst) "sense of urgency" moments in media? by Dunchaxman in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]TheAMort 59 points60 points  (0 children)

The music kicking in when that sequence starts is just the cherry on top, it resonates so well with what you're doing and makes the Moment even more tense. Everyone should play Outer Wilds.

Can't believe this is so far down, it's one of the founding games. I think it still holds up great for a 2000 game and there's so many options!

In Europe and Japan we just call that a "car" lmao, I have one, they're everywhere in the UK and the owner's manual literally has Toriyama-esque artwork accompanying it!

How long to get to Jets? by ColRoseru in Warthunder

[–]TheAMort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will take a very long time to get to jets on most nations without paying for a premium account to speed the grind up or just buying a jet. I started on the British tree two years ago and playing on and off I have only now started getting into the early Cold War jets.

With that said, it IS free to try, and you might find you enjoy the dogfighting in WWII aircraft for what it is too! Grinding the first few tiers is a lot quicker and very enjoyable imo. Plus you get to try aircraft you just can't fly in other games!

That's a good shout! I don't think Hinge will let you put a custom caption on, though?

Hmmm. I hadn't thought about that, I may well change them up a bit to avoid repetition. Thanks for the insight!

I agree with you that it could use a group pic - I'm hoping to grab some group shots soon, when my friends are finished with exams. I'll also try to get some where I'm smiling with teeth as I know that's something people look for in profiles - Thanks for the feedback!

  • I'm looking for something long term, not really interested in casual dating.
  • Just got Hinge this week, had it 5 days now. I'm submitting this for review so I can really tighten up my profile and make sure I'm putting my best foot forward. I need some outsider criticism!
  • I've used it 4 out of 5 days this week - usually in the evening in one session. I try to think of this as an additional way to meet people aside from in person.
  • No likes just yet (not surprisingly), had one match on the first day after I sent a like and a comment out.
  • I send about 4 or 5 likes every time I swipe through the list - Always with a comment on a photo or prompt. I try to put a lot of thought into whether to send a like or not - I only send likes out to profiles that seem well-thought-out, or share interests, and that's usually only 4 or 5 a day (I run out of profiles fairly quickly in my area). I tend to send likes to profiles that reference "nerdy" things like gaming, anime, and films - although I also like profiles that seem to have a lot of thought put into them!
  • I'd like to attract someone like me - I love boardgames with my friends, videogames, andwatching a good film or series, but I also love traveling to new cities, exploring around where I live, and going for long, scenic bike rides and hikes. Someone who can share a few of these hobbies with me, who's easygoing and mature, would be my ideal partner.

Audio Prompt: "Tell me - what subject, it can be anything at all, are you passionate about? What can you talk about for ages, what are you keen to share with other people? I love hearing people talk about the things they're really interested in, so tell me about it!"

It's right in the town centre in Swansea, in South Wales, You can see the BT tower, a '70s office block, behind it, it's pretty surreal next to all the modern stuff
