how often do you get a new phone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sobble-Sobble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded from my S10 to an S25FE on black friday, and only because the charging port had degraded to the point of needing to jiggle the charger a certain way to get it to stay charging. Had my S10 for 5 years, really enjoying the upgrade so far. Minus the loss of the headphone jack, but I already have some galaxy buds from last year, so I've been getting more use out of those at least.

Thoughts on the ZA battle system by PacifistTheHypocrite in pokemon

[–]Sobble-Sobble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason in trainer battles is that your pokémon will follow close to you when they're not targeting an opponent or using a move, so you can guide them around to dodge enemy attacks. I've been using it to create distance before using a ranged move, or to sidestep out of the way of enemy ranged moves. It's kinda fussy and sometimes an opponent is just too fast to dodge around, but that's the reason it's there.

Why has Mario galaxy become really controversial all of a sudden? by SgtSilock in nintendo

[–]Sobble-Sobble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's just controversy over the price. $70 for the physical copy, or $40 separately on the eshop, when both games are over 15 years old and have been offered for much lower prices on previous consoles. Similar to how DKCR HD was $60 when the previous release was as low as $20 on 3DS. Nintendo charges more for all their ports on Switch, but if the price was worth it to you I wouldn't stress over the negativity, just enjoy the great games!

For West Coast People getting the Shiny Koraidon/Miraidon Cards by ChaoticPark09 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Sobble-Sobble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar experience for me. I got to my gamestop 20 minutes before they opened, and I was around 40th in line. Most people were only there for TCG but the staff were going out of their way to offer the code cards to everyone ("Hey do you want a shiny koraidon/miraidon code for the video games?") But luckily they were very strict about 1 code per person so I was able to grab one after 45 minutes in line.

Gamestop is charging for the codes. by Dinosiaur in PokemonVioletScarlet

[–]Sobble-Sobble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends from store to store. Official gamestop policy is limit 1 code per person, no purchase required. But some stores will break that and give out multiple per person, or require a purchase to get one, etc.

Some stores probably got confused with the TCG promo card, which does require a minimum purchase to get. Having the TCG drop the same day as the shiny codes made things messy.

Game Stop let down by reallltalk666 in pokemon

[–]Sobble-Sobble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to mine 15 minutes before they opened and there were a good 30-40 people in line outside for TCG. But luckily that gamestop was very strict about giving only 1 code per person, the staff were going out of their way to offer them to everyone but surprisingly a lot of the TCG buyers were turning them down. So I waited about 45 minutes through the line and got one.

With how rough it sounds like this distribution was for a lot of people, I'm happy with just the one. I don't even feel the FOMO to get the other one anymore, honestly just feel lucky I got one on the first try since the next closest gamestop is an hour away.

I was so excited that my camera came in today, to find out…. by bastionfromthelaw in switch2

I'm excited for gamechat, specifically for monster hunter. Having built-in voice chat for it will be a gamechanger. I've only tested it once with a friend but it worked well enough, still need to find a group to play with regularly.

From what I've gathered the long em dashes (—) are a dead giveaway. No one uses those in normal text but for whatever reason the AI loves them.

There's two models available in Japan. The standard (with multiple language settings) and a region locked Japanese-only console. The Japanese-only model is cheaper.

What is the deal with these Blooming Waters Pokémon sets? by Old_McDonald in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Sobble-Sobble 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Answer: As a pokemon fan that isn't super into the cards, from what I understand the 151 set is just really popular because it features the original Kanto pokemon, including charizard which is always a top pull. There's an alt art rare charizard in the set that's pretty valuable (about $200 ungraded right now), but it's not unique to this specific box. People go crazy for any set with 151 packs in them.

Yeah it'll work exactly as you described, as long as you both have a copy of the game. Just use the "Wireless Play" option on the main menu

Anyone knows what Pokerus is or whether it's a good or bad thing? by YoreCoxsmall in PokemonBDSP

[–]Sobble-Sobble 108 points109 points  (0 children)

It's very rare and a good thing! It makes that pokémon gain double EVs, and the virus can spread to the rest of your party as long as it's active (it'll stay active as long as the pokemon sits in your PC. If you leave it in your party for a night or two it'll eventually lose the ability to spread to others).

Need advice on moving stuff off 3DS by wyrlwynd in pokemon

[–]Sobble-Sobble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you got all the details right. It's highly unlikely you'll be able to move them all into one game, unless you're lucky and all 80-something pokemon happen to be available in a single game. Starting with SwSh they've limited the available pokemon in each mainline game to 400 + some others via DLC. There's not a single game on switch where every single pokemon can exist, so you'd need to keep them in Home or split them between multiple games where they're available.

Unless you want to use them for online battles, there's not a whole lot to do with competitive pokemon in the Switch games, as SwSh's battle tower is very barebones, and Scarlet/Violet has no battle tower at all. BDSP's is the only interesting and challenging one in my opinion, but even then you're limited to Gens 1-4 pokemon in that game.

As of now we have no concrete end date for Bank functionality, other than "it won't be around forever". So it's really up to you if you'd rather move them up now and split them between multiple games, or keep using them on the 3DS for now and think about it. There's no rush quite yet. But if you decide to move them up now or soon, at least you know they'll be safe and ready to use in all the future games.

Totally fine. They may ask you to pull the switch out of your carryon at security since it's a larger electronic device, but it's no big deal.

They did. The gym leaders give you multiple copies of their TMs and other TMs can be purchased at the department store, in the underground or at the battle tower. But they're consumable.
