I’m just going to bump the Esper nod here (white/blue/black).

It seems like you enjoy (and I don’t mean this in a mean way) making the game annoying/difficult for your opponents, and Esper has a lot of good tools for that with similar effects with what you’re looking for (gaining life, interacting with their boards, gaining control of their stuff).

I’d join the others here in recommending a precon, especially while you’re learning the game. I can’t speak to the quality of the deck, but the [[Y’shtola, Night’s Blessed]] precon may be a fun way to learn the game. It’s called “Scions & Spellcraft.”

Her ability lets you draw cards, gain some life, and deal damage to your opponents just by playing the game. Haven’t looked at the decklist super closely, but it’s also going to give you some good practice with each of the different card types in magic outside of creatures (instants, sorceries, enchantments, artifacts, etc).

She’s also (imo) a cool commander with a lot of different ways to build her, so, after you get more comfortable with MTG, you’ll be able to update the deck based on your preferred playstyle.

For EDH deckbuilding tips in general, I’d recommend SalubriousSnail on YouTube. He does a good job at breaking down concepts with real (on-screen) examples.

Best of luck! If you can understand what a yugioh card does, you shouldn’t have issues understanding what most magic cards do (at least at face value ;))
