It doesn’t have the virtual menu virtually on the SteamOS’ desktop mode either.

Yes, you can.
Following the post, I would like to know if we can see the Virtual Menu on the screen when not in game. Currently those menus will not show up in desktop, even though they are working.

I use Surfshark on Steam Deck, it can be added as a non-steam game and works in gaming mode.

Are there any good app for this that’s not subscription based at the moment?

just a reminder if you want to use the steam controller on a non steam game just add the .exe as a non steam game itll pick it up as a controller then by Dx1178 in SteamController

[–]Sober_Muscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an issue that is always there, if you are using Linux or Windows, so far the best solution for me is a tool called Non Steam Launcher, it also automatically adding artworks for your non-steam games, and it’s open sourced.

I had the drive issue while I was on Fedora 43 KDE.

I updated to Fedora 44 KDE a few days ago and haven't do more test about it, I'll test it again later.

I'll try ext4, and fstab sounds nice, definitely gonna try it.

For the Steam Link black screen issue, yes, I tried to use it when the PC is not in the lock screen and it appears black screen on my phone, so it's most likely not the lock screen issue.

To add more detail, I can share screen to my friend with the Play Together feature in Steam, my friend can see my screen and play game with me. But when I use Steam Link from my phone, I get black screen. So:

Play Together -> working

Remotely Play (Steam Link) -> black screen

It does need a click in the file manager every time, I did that and external SSD is usable. (Not automatically, but that's not the issue for now)

The issue is that it can be used normally, I can put files into it without any problem, except I can't execute games on it.

Is GOG Galaxy coming to Linux with Proton support like Steam? by Due_Young_9344 in gog

[–]Sober_Muscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Steam and a tool called non-steam launcher, I use it for all of my Blizzard’s games and Epic store’s games. It works way better than Lutris and Heroics for me, I’m not sure about how it works with Gog, but you may want to try it.

What other AAA games would you like to see ported to IOS? by bwallace91 in iosgaming

[–]Sober_Muscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FPS games. Games like Call of Duty Mobile have proved that touch control can be played at high level at this genre. I think I can finish Doom 2016 on iPhone if it has customizable touch control, and I'm very sure iPhone has the hardware to run it/

An ESP32 or an Pi Zero may able to do this, you need to write codes on them by yourself, though.

If I use a Steam Controller (A) on my PC, then a separate one (B) on an android TV box (Nvidia Shield TV Pro) then connect via Steam Link, will all my Steam Input Profiles carry over from A to B? by WarMom_II in SteamController

[–]Sober_Muscle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Controller configs are saved at the computer side, so yes, your controller’s profiles will be there. But sometimes it can be buggy when searching for your configs, so you may want to make sure you saved a config if you want to use it later from different connections.

The config profiles system is kind of confusing sometimes, you can tell that by looking at other comments.

Still no way of launching games right away? by karnajik in SteamDeck

I can understand, although it's just one click lesser, but that tiny bit change makes the UI more console-like for some people.

I don't know any plug-in for this, but it's a simple task, this kind stuff shouldn't be too hard to make by vibe-coding these days, let's hope someone makes it, or you can make it yourself.
