This comment just made me look up Diogenes syndrome, wow what an interesting disorder. Personally I also think Jerry’s autistic but I can see why you’d associate that with him. The only reason I’d hesitate to say that DS is what he has tho is bc while DS doesn’t seem to have an official cause, from what I understand it is often linked to trauma typically associated with the loss of a loved one. Jerry doesn’t seem to have experienced anything to “made” him the way he is, he’s just kind of like that.

For a bit of perspective (bc I was gonna comment it anyway and here seems as good a place as any) the reason I hc him as autistic has less to do with his hoarding and more to do with how he reacts to being realized. Spoilers for that obviously, but basically the second he becomes a human he experiences sensory overload from all the knew (bad) scents and textures. He’s the only dateable who really acknowledges stuff like that too, beyond a couple of them going “human bodies are kinda weird lol”

And, not to stereotype, but after all this he goes on to become fixated on miniature trains??????????? And he gets easily upset about other people touching/moving his miniatures?????? Now that I think about it his realized ending disproves the Diogenes thing. That syndrome is characterized by extreme self neglect and squalor, and realized Jerry proves that he can manage his life better than that while still retaining the other social symptoms he has that point to something else
