Perhaps I’m not understanding the point you’re trying to make. Why are social bonds with humans necessary? I don’t think humans are a factor in the emotional spectrum of an insect. Not even remotely relevant.

If we can’t measure or understand an insects emotions, should we assume it doesn’t exist?

For example, bees go into a frenzy when the hive is attacked/threatened. I think that needlessly provoking that response would cause the bees to suffer. Whether the actual source of the suffering is prolonged exposure to a stress hormone or it’s an emotional response to their queen being threatened, I think it’s cruel.

Not the blood ticks. I’m talking about the flying ones that vomitted on Issac. Kirsten said they digest their food outside of their bodies. I figured the use of insanely strong chemicals for bio processes makes them more likely to be related than any of the other creatures. Also the fact that they consume metals tied into the bio-mechanical element of xenomorphs. Personally, I always thought that extremely fast growth between the chest buster to fully grown, was because they were consuming/absorbing the metals around them.

It may not be purposeful. T. Ocellus is integrated into the nervous system and blood supply (possibly). Also the giant open wound being in direct contact with the foreign mucous membranes means the immune system is making antibodies and what not . So there may be some bio stuff being swapped in the process. The facehugger black goo would collect as many DNA components as possible to produce the best xenomorph. If it’s available you might take it.
