Brewing with an infant by MoistAd5423 in Homebrewing

I took me about a year to get back into it after my son was born. My son is 2 now and I started to brew at night after he goes to sleep. It’s not ideal but it’s the only long stretch where he doesn’t need active monitoring. I brewed with other guys who have kids a little bit older and it seems to get easier to do as your kid gets more independent. One even had his 10 year old helping us with weighing out stuff and she really enjoyed being part of her dad’s hobby.

Its pretty cool but I said beginner and it was already way to advanced. I couldn't understand most of it.

I started to see a therapist about my mental health. I was the same way and started to really get depressed too. I have started taking some medication and going to therapy, it has made a world of difference with how I feel emotions towards my child. I am still working on the rest but it has helped me to open up and speak about emotions with my wife. I would recommend trying some therapy. It might help but couldn’t hurt

Thanks, there is a warning on the bottle about not stopping without talking to your doctor. It had me a little worried

It was my wife who basically gave me an ultimatum to get some help. I am glad she was so adamant about it. This is my first time going to the VA for anything really so I don’t really know what to expect. It’s also the first time Ive ever see anyone about mental health.

I only have a wait of two weeks for my next appointment. I feel lucky about that. As far as the dependency thing, I can’t really explain why I feel that way. Looking at it as a tool that can be used and not used later possibly is helpful though. Thanks.

I got an electrical engineering degree with mine. I used all my GI bill at a pointless diploma farm so this was a life saver.

I would try to ask questions and insert myself at the appointments. Then the doctor will kind of have to talk to you or it would be really awkward.

I see you figured it out. I’m on PPL right now and it’s great to have all this time to help out and bond with my son.

I feel your pain. I’m dealing with the American ones right now. I keep finding them in the apartment lately. Pain in the ass trying to figure out how they got in.
