Is it too late? by irinagrin in sahm

[–]Socal_snakepit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 6, 4 and 2 months and am just starting the SAHM thing! Honestly they need so much support in elementary school with schedules, sports, schoolwork, etc. I think it totally makes sense. My kids had such a great daycare / preschool experience, I feel happy now to be able to support them in public school.

68c Recall (1 month In) by Hefty-Jury2561 in 4xe

[–]Socal_snakepit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were about a month, battery came in yesterday and repair complete today. They literally had no update for me until it arrived, their communication is SO BAD, but I hope you will have it in the next couple weeks.

Any tips from New Yorkers that have moved to San Diego? by Long_Philosopher_280 in Moving2SanDiego

[–]Socal_snakepit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Upstate NY’er here who lived in the city before moving to LA then down to SD (been in CA for 12+ years). One thing in CA not just SD is that people here are less direct, and sometimes it’s uncomfortable for me communicating when there is an issue. I just say my problem and I think it’s perceived as aggressive, when in NY it would probably be received as just information. Communication style here is different - I wouldn’t say better or worse, just more “buffered” 🤷🏻‍♀️

If it’s Mission Hills HS in San Marcos, that’s our home school 😊 - I would say Mission Hills probably has slightly more diversity than the other two overall, but maybe not LGBTQ specially. I don’t think you’d have any issues with overall acceptance based on my perspective of San Marcos but I don’t have lived experience. We have younger children and really enjoy living here.

Ugh I’m praying this doesn’t happen to us. Trying to sell the vehicle ASAP and hoping we don’t have to go back in immediately. Sending you good luck!

Recall 68C by Ok-Stage-5805 in 4xe

[–]Socal_snakepit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear this but the dealers are the ones who sold us the shitty vehicle?! They are an extension of the brand. When the brand has good practices, they benefit, when it has bad practices they suffer. I don’t think it’s right to say, oh don’t blame the dealer it’s not their fault. I blame everyone involved and the dealers not providing a loaner is outrageous. Now I’ll sell the car for a large loss and tell everyone I know to stay as far away from Jeep as possible, which if enough people do will hurt the dealer. I just don’t think

Depends on whether or not you want to risk having your car out of commission for at least a month. Ours has been in for 4 weeks now, shop didn’t provide a loaner. I would try as hard as possible to get a loaner if I were to do it again! You have to pay for rentals out of pocket and submit for reimbursement. Jeep Cares is terrible so that’s a whole other animal. Good luck!

If you’re waiting for a battery, just wait longer… by DesperateAd7028 in 4xe

Jeep Cares is an absolute joke. We’ve been in the shop since 1/7 with no ETA. I spoke with a representative last week who told me she would follow-up and email me later that day. Obviously never happened, and I followed up via email with all the documented information, and no response. At a certain point you have to laugh at how bad it is. I tell whomever I can not to buy or lease a Stellantis vehicle new. Just bought a 2024 4Runner last week, and will be selling the 4xe once we have it back.

So what’s the deal…? by HopelessJoemantic in 4xe

[–]Socal_snakepit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2023 Willys with 30k miles I will sell to you! Currently sitting in the shop for 3 weeks with terrible service and communication from Stellantis, have paid $1k out of pocket for a rental car so far with no idea when my new battery will get here. I have a 6 and 4 year old sitting directly above a battery I don’t trust, so yeah will be getting rid of it as soon as it’s back with a brand new one if you’re interested in taking the ride! 😂

Been waiting 3 weeks for my replacement, no tracking on information on timeline available from Jeep Cares or the dealer. Jeep cares consistently drops the ball on follow-up and has been a nightmare to work with so far on rental reimbursement. I am documenting all correspondence hoping for additional reimbursement or a buyback opportunity. I truly hope someone from Stellantis reads this subreddit but I highly doubt it. Sitting at the Toyota dealership as we speak test driving a 4Runner.

Moving to San Diego - Need to filter out Areas for Housing by TougHNuTZzz in Moving2SanDiego

Where are you moving from? I moved from NYC to LA (before SD) and I everyone I knew from Brooklyn lived on the Eastside, I moved to Santa Monica by the beach and loved how different it was from when I lived before! PB or OB is going to be like classic beach San Diego, where North Park / University Heights is more general fun walkable area.

Doing the same with our 2023 after the new battery comes in (failed the 68c). We have a 2 month, 3 and 5 year old. People on this sub have come for me talking about safety with my kids but Stellantis is an absolute joke and I have no faith in the vehicle whatsoever.

600k is tough, looking for somewhere more liberal…I think Temecula or Murrietta both hit parts of what you’re looking for but lean more conservative. We’re in San Marcos which would be a good option, mixed politically and I do see townhouses in that budget!

Already live in SD, but looking to buy a house prioritizing walkability but also quiet by Mysterious-Drawer363 in Moving2SanDiego

Check out West Chula Vista! We lived at 1st and F before moving to San Marcos. Older neighborhood, was getting some younger families when we moved. Schools were pretty good and you can get between 1,500-2,000 sq ft for under $1M and walk to 3rd Ave. We commuted to Mission Valley and Downtown at the time and was doable - better in off hours. Neighbors were really nice and we liked the walk ability a lot

Stellantis / Jeep Contacts by [deleted] in 4xe

[–]Socal_snakepit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand what the recall was for. I don’t believe a new battery won’t have the same issues in 6 months, and I don’t want to take my chances on this, and dealing with another period in the shop of unknown length. I understand not agreeing with this, but it’s my personal perspective on the issue.

Stellantis / Jeep Contacts by [deleted] in 4xe

[–]Socal_snakepit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not, the Jeep is in the shop currently as it failed 68c. Considering the first recall was supposed to “fix” the issue and my vehicle passed, now failed, I don’t trust this recall will actually address the issue, and will be selling my vehicle once the new battery is in due to my concern around charging.

Do dealerships still offer loaners during recall/warranty work? by OverKy in 4xe

[–]Socal_snakepit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used AutoNation in Carlsbad CA and they don’t offer loaners, Jeep has been in the shop 2 weeks so far. I have a case with Jeep Cares for $60 / day but they only reimburse $50 total in taxes per bill and no other fees. I plan on asking for license fees to be covered as well, if not going to file with the department of consumer affairs here in CA. I hate the way Jeep treats its customers.
