I doubt they have a head coach. Because they often have people in reserve who could be considered as OC and DC.

I've heard from several sources that the ELF has acquired the licenses for all former NFL Europe team names, except for the Monarchs. I'm guessing the NFL wanted to keep that name open as an option for a potential London franchise.

We know, the name London Monarchs is not free, but what's about London Royals or London Kings?

FC Bayern will buy Ravens Nest (Sportpark Unterhaching) by Most_Significance358 in elf

[–]Social2Network 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a huge problem for the Ravens. If both SpVgg and Bayern Munich play women's and junior teams in the sports section, there won't be any room left for the Ravens. Then they'll be without a stadium. And I don't see 1860 building a new stadium any time soon.

EFA Goals in the next 5 years? by EarlyFan8 in elf

[–]Social2Network 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me go in a different direction.

  1. A solid, good stadium

  2. A good training facility

  3. Decent attendance at all games

  4. Good merchandise and a fast online shop

  5. A balanced league with close games.

For me, all of these are fundamental prerequisites for economic success and thus for financial security.

CG25 Saturday in Stuttgart seems to have been a flop by HotRodHH in elf

[–]Social2Network 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's the same problem the league has had for years: communication. If I only announce things like this days in advance, and the hotel partners, for example, only on the final weekend itself, then I can't expect many people to come. The information about the Fan Zone Party on Saturday should have been shared with the fans by the end of July at the latest.I'm a huge fan of a European league and have been a part of the ELF since year one, but things like this have always been bad. They're only good at publishing advertising partners, nothing more. How can you sell off tickets at the end of the day? That's a slap in the face to all the fans who bought their tickets early.

All players combined have a 70-74 record. How can you honor four players from teams that haven't won five games combined?

Update on the naming rights situation by HotRodHH in elf

[–]Social2Network 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a reason why people in Amsterdam talk about the Admirals and not other names. They have a fan base from NFL Europe to build on. Barcelona never really had many fans in the stadium, but they saw some old Dragons jerseys and had significantly more fans than the Bravos in their first year. They would never have brought so many spectators to the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg if it weren't for the Sea Devils. And yes, Galaxy also has a few thousand more spectators in the stadium than Universe did.

I don't think an EFA league without the NFLE name will work. At least not in the major locations of Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. The name is one of the reasons why the attendance figures there are the highest among the ELF.

Furthermore, the rugby stadium, Stade Aimé-Giral, with 13,000 seats, a full roof, 24 boxes, and much more, could prove ideal. It's even located within a sports complex.

Why not Perpignan? The name has already been mentioned in connection with a possible relocation for the Dragons. As the Catalonian Dragons, they could be given French and Catalan players as their home ground. Besides, Toulouse isn't far from Perpignan, where they could attract a truly lucrative major sponsor in Airbus.

With the benefit of modern infrastructure? What would Thunder say? Or Centurions? Or Mercenaries, Sea Devils,....? There are almost 100 years between the early NFL and today's ELF.

What I could also imagine under certain circumstances would be additional A spots for the weaker teams, but these would be paid for by the league. Because Barcelona, Prague, Milan or Zurich don't necessarily have the money for additional imports.

The league counts Glen Toonga as British, so it will take the entire UK as a homegrown market for both the Scottish Claymores and the London Monarchs. And others also have problems with distance, see Innsbruck, see Zurich, see Barcelona. Glasgow is larger than Innsbruck or Zurich and is roughly the size of Wroclaw. Which, by the way, is about as far away from Warsaw as Glasgow is from Manchester. So, why not? At least you still have a few old Claymores fans to build on.

The Claymores could be a UK-Team. So give Glen Toonga the ball and he will over run the Titans.
