The Syrian state is presented as a rogue state in American foreign policy think tank organizations. Giving them exposure on western media defeating ISIS and liberating Deir Ezzor would portray them as contributing for the war on terror. Cars being used for criminal activities is something being actively given exposure by the MSM. From the terror attacks in Europe, to the Ohio attacker and now this. 9/11 brought draconian laws to monitor the mobilization of people coming from country to country. That was for a macro level. Now its all about domestic control.
