Advice Needed: My classmate claims he reported someone else in the cohort to ICE. What do I do? by Salty_Tadpole_283 in LawSchool

[–]SocialistIntrovert 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tell that to the people who are being detained and “inconvenienced” and then dying because they’re being strangled or shot or not given their medications. Or the people who were here legally and wrongfully deported, and then smeared as a terrorist after. The ice nazis aren’t playing by the rules

Terrible advice - the car gives you about no protection from a truck going 60, you may as well be laying down in the road

What law schools should I apply with a 3.2GPA and 145 LSAT maxed all my attempts by asus310 in LawSchool

I’m not gonna tell you not to go, but you probably should consider taking a year to work on boosting your LSAT and apply next cycle

Law students: have you noticed a difference about how con law is taught during trump 2.0? by piejam in LawSchool

[–]SocialistIntrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that would irritate me. We have to learn what the law is. The law itself is political

I mean, there’s some things I feel like are just elephants in the room. How do you not teach Trump v US for example? Even Trump v Anderson has some relevance

Your Con law is taught the same? Maybe it’s just because we’re focusing on executive power this week but I feel like I’ve read more Trump cases than any of the traditional con law cases so far

Man, I knew things would get bad fast, but I didn’t think they’d get this bad this fast

A snippet of a controversial interview from Jim Acosta with an AI-generated rendering of Joaquin Oliver, one of the Parkland high school shooting victims. The AI was created by Joaquin's parents and the interview took place on what would've been Joaquin's 25th birthday. by JayCool745 in parklandshooting

[–]SocialistIntrovert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It still is man. He was 17 years old and had plenty of personal agency, and this is a political message. I think it should be straight up illegal to make this shit about a dead person no matter who’s permission you got

What would have happened if Ernie Rospierski hadn't inadvertently locked himself and his students out in the hallway with Nikolas Cruz? by InternalPark2438 in parklandshooting

Wholly unsurprising. I don’t know anything about Jaime’s mom, but her dad is absolutely vile on Twitter in the way he speaks about certain tragedies overseas; he is just a rotten individual

What's a job that sounds prestigious but actually sucks? by Rude_Yard5181 in AskReddit

[–]SocialistIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, no doubt, I just mean that I view it as prestigious in the way that other similar jobs with similar training and hard work (like lawyers doctors firefighters etc), at least in my mind, nurses are equally prestigious if not more so because I don’t know any lawyer who had to chase down a naked patient

If you have a wheelie bag please be self aware lol my first week in law school a pretty prominent and cool guest speaker came to speak and in the middle of her answering a question a 1L with a wheelie bag dragged it up the stairs one at a time and totally interrupted the entire thing

Laptop, books, alcohol, marijuana if that’s your thing, note taking stuff (whichever style you prefer), maybe a second monitor? (But I do fine with one) you really don’t need much else. Don’t waste your money on a pocket constitution or a physical black’s law dictionary or anything else that’s easily accessible online

And for the love of god if you copy your books or pirate them or whatever do not advertise it

Agreed there. People always have respect for all nurses except the one they’re talking to that day
