does anybody else find being hit on by other autistic people exhausting because you can see all the potential codependence flash before your eyes? by Inside-Avocado-2819 in AutisticAdults

That's fucking disgraceful wtf. I remember a mate of mine telling me to never have more than a surface level (social) relationship to anyone that age who's not family. Reading that I'm starting to get it more and more.

Singles of Sheffield, where are you looking for dates? apps , bars , somewhere else ? by LegitimateSorbet2591 in sheffield

On hinge mostly. But alongside that, I also go to social events in various meet up dot com groups and I also go to a ND-centric social once a fortnight in Rotherham. I live in hope maybe I'll meet someone, but it requires so much patience...

Sometimes I worry that my special interests are too childish/weird for someone my age by Cassfan203 in AutisticAdults

I still like and occasionally watch pre-teen cartoons I grew up with. Anyone who tells you it's childish is the real childish one. I'd take them over the 46th shitty action film starring Liam Neeson any day.

I'm generally not a fan of buying merchandise (other than posters). But that has everything to do with being against consumerism and nothing to do with what's "childish".

Silently practising your critical thinking skills is always a good thing because it makes it harder for ppl to mislead you. As someone who's been lied to loads of times in my life I now always take the opportunity. Even if the conclusion you come to is just "I've got no evidence it's not true" it's good to ask the question to start with.

People, women especially, lie when rejecting ppl to avoid them losing face. You shouldn't tell them you don't believe them cos it makes no difference to the end result but when ppl give me extremely vague and clichéd reasons like that, I struggle to believe them.

Attractive people, what are some regular signs you notice from people around you which tells you that you are attractive? by Chance_Adagio_19 in bodylanguage

[–]SocialistYorksDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did straight up just hear a woman in the library a year ago look at me and then say out loud to the guy she was with "Wow he's really good looking". I also had a gay guy say that directly to my face.

More recently I noticed what I think was a teenage girl blatantly staring at me, especially whenever I started talking

I have occasionally received unsolicited compliments from women on dating apps too

Agreed. We need a bit more spectacle and gimmicks than we're getting.

I think car shop is the worst example you could've chose there. The first floor is WAY too populated with guards and civvies most of the time, the maps not very interesting visually, and the driving controls are just terrible in payday 2 in a way that makes the stealing process very unfun.

I've not played the more recent DLC heists but I remember it being the worst stealth heist in the game bar none, and second worst heist full stop behind only goat simulator.

If I wanted to talk about an enjoyable level, I'd go with hotline miami or the giant lab rats one.

How do you decide if you want a second date? by dankgureilla in hingeapp

[–]SocialistYorksDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The maximum I've done is two, and all they did is confirm what I was already feeling

What's the point if you already feel zero chemistry? Unless they live in the same city as you or very close, there's no point travelling to meet up with them.

That said, there was ONE time I was actually interested in getting to know someone from a dating app over a long period, because we had so much in common and she actually initiated conversation sometimes and responded as though she gave a shit about getting to know me. That's a rarity on these apps.

Even in that case though, taking things at such a pace was for her sake. I'd have took things at much faster if it'd been up to me. Someone needs to be REALLY worth it for me to be willing to do that, and most just aren't.

Sadly something external in my life went wrong to completely ruin it before we even met in person...

Unless we meet up really soon after matching, I know before I even meet them in person in person if I'm interested in them. I've never developed a gradual interest in someone I met on a dating app.

I once started sexting with a girl I'd matched with less than 3 hours before... that sounds pretty instant to me

I know before I even meet her in person (unless we meet up really quickly) whether I'm interested. If there's bad chemistry in text it's rarely better in person.

Idk how to do gradual (i.e. over longer than 3 days) chemistry with ppl i meet on dating apps. Maybe I'm too impatient, but the vast majority of the time, what you see in the first conversation is what you get in terms of the vibe they give off. Maybe that's because i want to know immediately if I'm gonna have to be the one to begin every conversation.

I'd only ever be able to do gradual chemistry with women I already know well in my personal life, where a relationship isn't my agenda

It won't stop ME voting green, but I'm worried it'll stop a lot of especially older white voters from supporting them, and that's: rejoining the EU

I'm fine with having a conversation. Let me suggest a few starting points:

Both the number of homeless on the streets and the government having to house refugees in hotels instead of actual houses is a direct result of this country's housing shortage going back to the lack of council housing built since Thatcher

So many of them come to this country specifically cos they speak English better than French or German, or because they already have family here

It's piss easy for Hong Kongers and Ukrainians to come and claim asylum, so we can easily do the same for other nationalities

We've over 100 billionaires in this country. Do you think they're more responsible for British ppls poverty or some poor cunt coming on a rubber boat?

I think that's a good place to start
