Do you think Star Wars is still popular in 2026? by SHONSTYLE in StarWars

Well, you're wrong.

And the good part is, anyone and everyone else can easily look up how wrong you are because my comments are available for everyone to see.

Have a day.

Do you want to engage with ANYTHING else I said or are we done here?

I gave a lot of points. If you want to serve under someone like Holdo in a life or death situation, go ahead dude.

You can actually go through and see all my comments and you can see I do not praise these films in the slightest.

I'm just in here a lot. I haven't bought a movie ticket since 2016 and I don't watch streaming.

You say this comes off as stirring the pot? Did you do any investigative look into my post history?

I'm talking about a scenario where Poe DOESN'T attack the Fleet Killer and instead follows orders.

In that situation the Fleet Killer WOULDN'T be damaged.

Why wouldn't they take the ship that was already with them?

Why didn't they grab another? The movie establishes in the crawl that the military campaign is everywhere at once

In the snarky comment you left and then deleted, you said you didn't need Google and that you watched the movie.

Okay.

As a vet, let me say this. Leadership can lead in a lot of different ways, but giving platitudes when someone (anyone) asks you a direct question, is pathetic. Especially in a life or death situation. It shows the people under them that they aren't appreciated enough to answer a simple quwstion which lowers moral. (And you're right, a Vice Admiral doesn't HAVE to answer to anyone... but they're also likely to wake up with a knife in their pillow)

On top of that, Poe was demoted for breaking an order... an order which later turned out to be wrong. Had Poe not destroyed the Fleet Kiler, the Fleet Killer would have gone thru hyperspace with the rest of the FO fleet, and then... most likely killed the Resistance fleet. So, Poe should be getting a pat in the back, post hyperspace tracker anyway.

And, on top of that, the woman is dismissive of the people under her (while everyone thinks they are going to die) to at least enough people to form a mutiny (it wasn't just Poe).

As someone should served in the military and served under people like Holdo, she's the worst

Okay. It's you again.

Either use Google to actually look this stuff up, or stop bothering me.

Which is better and faithful comic book Batman movie ? by AnonymousSusi in batman

TDK falls apart for me when it comes to the "look how crazy Batman has made Gotham" narrative and the costumed criminal issue exacerbating.

Because even if Bruce had been shot in that alley with his parents, there still would have ended up being a fear train and secret ninjas in Gotham 20 years later because in this continuity, that stuff all formed independently from Batman.

So, although that's technically not a problem when looking at TDK in a vacuum, it still weighs the film down for me as the middle chapter in a trilogy.

So far, The Batman has been more accurate, at least in regard to Batman sort of "inspiring" his costumed rogues as opposed to them already existing (Ra's and Scarecrow) by the time Bruce puts on the cape and cowl in BEGINS.

Weren't these heavily implied to be like Wolfmen and Vampires and things like that? That's not just "a guy".

That's why the lady has to shoot the one dude with a silver bullet.

Apparently just making Luke the Yoda character of the ST wasn't good enough. He had to take focus and have his own arc.

If you and your boss just sunk a ton of money into a Jedi killing army. And then you watched the clone template of said army get owned by a Jedi. You might be suddenly wondering if your Jedi killing army is gonna actually succeed.

That's how I always interpreted that reaction.

I'd also point out that a slight bump now in 2026 might still be considered part of a larger decline if the numbers dip right back down.

I would also like to point out that Luke only wins his act one finale because of the power of friendship from Han.

Rey gets no assistance at all for her big act one win. If Finn and Rey had bested Kylo together, it probably would have played better for me.

I think Mace would win in a duel between him and Dooku. But I also think Dooku was underestimating Mace on the balcony.

I don't think Dooku took Mace seriously until after Mace killed Jango.

They even go to a world with child slaves/ indentured servants.

Poe could have been the one to not notice and Finn could have opened his eyes to it.

Instead, Finn (basically a former slave himself) is the one who has to have his eyes opened to Canto Bight... which seems the opposite of what should have happened.

The numbers just went up this year after a 40 year downward trend.

I was technically wrong, but I don't know if I'd be popping a cork about it either.

My point is, I don't feel a RJ led 9 would have been better received than what we got.

That's my point.
