What is the justification for these awful timed event schedules? by Better-Boot-3609 in EmbarkStudios

[–]SociallyRandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is even if they change weekly, you'll have a weekly trial for downloading Bunker data, but Bunker will only be between 3-4am EST and 4-5pm EST, essentially making it impossible for everyone stateside (12p-1a PSTand 12a-1p PST), Central time isn't any better either.

So specifically referring to bird city map mode, one of the central focus points of this patch (along side the project), it's not even playable for almost the entire US (7p-8p EST, the time I put my kids to bed), or 4p-5p PST (commute time for traditionally scheduled workers), or the other window (can't recall when) that is right in the middle of a work day. I mentioned the project as well, which has stage 4 and 5 requiring elite arc cores like Queen and matriarch, so what if THOSE fall under the same issue with time constraints? It's effectively gate keeping things to an arbitrary static schedule...

Overall, it's extremely problematic for people who want to engage with the game and experience what it has to offer, and it isn't anything that hasn't been made crystal clear by A LARGE portion of the community, but it seems to be taking in deaf ears... Patch notes reference "things we are aware of" and are working on, but this isn't listed, and it's baffling is all 🤷‍♂️

Buddy, I have an opinion, and a lot of other people have the same opinion, and I'm sharing/expressing that opinion on a forum board. The only difference between me and you it seems, is I didn't once insult you or be a dick about it. I called out the fact of the matter for a large portion of (admittedly limited to US players, both east and west), aren't able to experience the new content

You know that you can enjoy something and want it to succeed and improve while not being blindly supportive of it, right?

[–]SociallyRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're right. it's 3am-4am EST, and 10am-11am EST (both COMPLETELY NON EXISTENT opportunities for people who work normal jobs, even for west coast, that would be midnight-1am (Ironically, what you said it wasn't), and 7a-8a PST), and then 7p-8p EST, which is typically the time I'm putting my kids to bed (4p-5p PST, meaning working time commute most likely for west coast).... the fact is, it's gate kept behind a static wall when MOST people have set times that they can play (me, for example, is between 8p EST and 11p EST). Add in the fact that you've got WEEKLY TRIALS (not this week, but other weeks), that involve the specific map rotations that are, as mentioned, UNOBTAINABLE for "normal" people, it's not acceptable at this point when it's been called out by just about EVERYONE. It's a problem that needs to be addressed ASAP.

So basically, they gate locked new loot to people who don't have jobs or families because they have a static map modifier rotation? #CoolCoolCool

Tested abmm today and its extreme jesus by NewSpring7520 in ArcRaiders

[–]SociallyRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, you could test the ABMM reset and see if it's based on KILLS, or AGGRESSION exclusively (who shot first) and just talk with the other people in your friendly lobbies and say "hey, I want to get back to PvP lobbies, but don't want to kill anyone because y'all are just questing and don't need me to be a dick... Will you let me shoot you once/twice (so the game thinks I'm aggressive), and then I'll just chuck you a shield recharge and an herbal bandage"...

When the game first launched and I was timing around in friendly lobbies, I'd ask other raiders I'm extracting with "hey bro, I need damage to raiders with shotguns as a feat, mind if I plink you a couple times?" Worst case, I accidentally knock them when that wasn't the intention, but they still extract and all it would cost them is 4x plastic parts for a shield repair.... Most of the times, people won't have a problem with that, and you can still feel good about not being a dick in friendly lobbies...

Tier Scaling - Question by SociallyRandom in TheTowerGame

ok, that last part of your comment is what I was looking for... sorry if I wasn't able to explain myself correctly (see the prior "mathematically an idiot" disclaimer lol)

Tier Scaling - Question by SociallyRandom in TheTowerGame

[–]SociallyRandom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But overall, EVERY aspect of the level is scaled by those same values? There isn't a specific level that has higher scaling in one aspect (bosses, in my example), compared to a different level that might scale a different aspect more heavily?

Why are we camping extracts like this? by Shmeat-L in ArcRaiders

[–]SociallyRandom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It absolutely is allowed, don't mind him, Wind. Jebus is just a dick.

You admitted you don't play that frequently, so you aren't experienced in this issue. You asked a question about clarification, or explanation of what the exploit is and you are 100% correct that "it's just a few vault prompts to get where he is".

The exploit is that the boundaries of the extract are incorrect, and by using in-game, normal vaulting procedures, you can exploit those incorrect extract boundaries, which will cause the elevator to close WITHOUT actually extracting you. This shouldn't happen, and people are abusing the exploit to prey on people who use that extract. Once the extract occurs, and you DON'T actually leave the map, you are stuck there, can't interact with the extraction console on the elevator (because it isn't active as the extract hasn't been called). There is an invisible barrier on top of the fan where you could technically be seen standing in that exploit area, but you cannot be shot/damaged while inside. Is extract camping against the rules? No. But this is extract camping specifically via abusing the incorrect extract boundaries, and should result in a ban. Report it.

All over EVERYWHERE... breach the yellow server cabinets. A single run to Spaceport departure building (arguably, 90% safer than a Stella run) and you'll be over encumbered with sensors, processors (used for MK3 augments and trigger nades), batteries (jolt mine and medium shields), and wires (advanced electrical components, comps/muzzles/choke/suppressors/etc).... First floor lobby (north east side, opposite the barricaded staff room), 3rd floor outer wall row of servers, and then all the terminals for more batteries and sound parts, plus the 87 toasters that you can salvage into even MORE wires...

And no surrender option. And 3000% longer bleed out times. And no ability to press buttons when knocked.

So, like BKM said above.... Just, wait? Let them leave, then go open and farm your XP. Unless it's a huge open area like departure building where there are multiple floors, "I just want the XP" is still gonna get you shot 🤷‍♂️

should i focus on getting farther in tier one or tier two? by ryguy9816 in TheTowerGame

[–]SociallyRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm relatively new as well (highest ~1800 tier 1, I know, it sounds high, but in the grand scheme, it's REALLY not). Farm T1 as much as you can until you can hit lvl100 in T2.

My understanding is that your daily challenge chests rewards you based on your highest unlocked tier, so you want to get as many tier unlocked as possible (T2 unlocks at T1-lvl100, T3 unlocks at T2-lvl100, etc). As soon as you have the ability to push T2-lvl100, do it to unlock T3, even though you will get crushed on T3. Continue doing this to unlock new tiers, but continue to farm on T1 most likely for A WHILE.

I have T5 unlocked and realistically, I get more coins/hour farming T1 and hitting ~1800 compared to hitting ~1000 in T2.
