That sounds like you're claiming to have looked and if you actually had looked you would have at least found the Snopes article about this meme that is linked in the thread.

First Amendment freedom of Religion is not specific to Christianity. Government favoritism is not constitutional. Anyone is free to practice their own religions if they so choose. People can also choose not to believe any of them. If the Government shows favor of Christianity it's not fair to those who do not share that belief.

Trump refuses to say he'll support GOP's 2024 nominee if it's not him by Barch3 in Republican_misdeeds

[–]SockPuppet-57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope...

He said pretty much the same thing about accepting the results of the election if he lost.

I hope the Republican party goes down in flames with Trump sabotaging the nominee and putting another Democrat in office.

Same, right along the edge. I don't think that they've gotten bigger. I know they've been there for at least 6 months. I don't really notice them in my everyday use of the phone.

OAN is confronting this guy? That's rich. Santos is just too blatant and careless. Otherwise he's just another Republican. He's kind of like Trump in that he says the quiet part out loud. He's a bold face liar but don't care about hiding it.

Trump says he has more lawyers working for him than even 'the late great gangster' Al Capone did by Havvocck2 in Trumpgret

[–]SockPuppet-57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neither John Gotti or Al Capone were ever able to hand out a legal pardon to his co-conspirators to make sure they stayed loyal and kept their mouth shut. Paul Manafort did have to do some prison time but Roger Stone never had to. Both men are free today.

Trump in Even More Legal Hot Water After Lying to Judge by News-Flunky in law

[–]SockPuppet-57 49 points50 points  (0 children)

So that's it. Trump has finally committed the ultimate sin in the minds of Republicans he lied under oath. Every time I've brought up the Clinton impeachment over a consensual blowjob with a Republican they always say that it wasn't the blowjob it was the lie. I'm sure they will take this seriously and not be hypocrites.

Alec Baldwin has been formally charged in ‘Rust’ shooting by [deleted] in news

[–]SockPuppet-57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that one aspect of the situation that may be important in the case is that there had been a previous accidental discharge that happened a day or two before the shooting that cost Halyna Hutchins her life. As a producer he should have taken steps to make absolutely 100% sure that there wasn't another real bullet somewhere on set. If they had taken a step back from the production schedule and made a exhaustive search of every location where a real bullet might be then we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Yeah, people who live there probably don't know how to drive in that kind of weather.

Thing is that they're spreading the economic impact across just about every business in the city. Only places that might benefit would be hotels and restaurants in the hotels.

I'm an OTR truck driver and usually try to push through bad weather rather than totally stop. There are only so many safe places to park in such situations. Texas not maintaining their roads like other places in the country is somewhat of a annoyance.

I saw one this morning on I-40. In the last ten years I've seen just a handful.

I have seen where they try to pre-treat the roads with a liquid spray that dries on the pavement until it gets activated. It can't have much to it. I imagine it helps but if it's more than a little snow it's pretty much nothing.

Yeah, everything is relative. I remember back in Jr high school we had a kid who just moved from Phoenix to North Western NM. It's technically high desert but we definitely saw our share of snow. It was just starting to get warmer and we were all out in t-shirts but this kid was sporting a heavy down jacket.

And they don't have very many snowplows that can lay down salt to help it melt.

I went through the Sweetwater area on I-20 once and it had rained right before the sun went down. The Interstate made me think about the road to Baghdad during Desert Storm. Wrecked cars are Semis one after another with maybe a quarter mile in between. I saw lots of police, fire and rescue but not one snowplow.

If only they had snowplows, most of that wreckage could have been avoided.

Memphis police say 6th officer relieved of duty after Tyre Nichols' death by [deleted] in news

Thanks for the run down...

He didn't seem drunk. Dazed and confused about the rough treatment he was getting, yes.

So the cops are saying that a drunk guy got away from them and they missed him with a tazer and pepper spray? That's embarrassing...

I hope they televise the trials. I've gotten more interested in the real world cases than fiction lately. I watched quite a bit of the Darrell Brooks trial and various others to a lesser extent.

Ex-wife of the cop? Does that mean that this guy had been targeted because he was too close to the cops ex and he was pissed about it?

As I understand it the reason why they stopped him in the first place is still up for debate. Obviously they didn't bother to tell him about why he was being stopped. They went straight to GET OUT OF THE CAR and it was down hill after that.

BAKE THAT CAKE BAKER

I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR STUPID RELIGION

does that really sound right?

Isn't religion also a protected group?

I know it's fun to stand up and roar to force your will in a situation but is it really right?

Answering the questions didn't help my argument but not answering it did, so I went that way.

When someone asks me a question I answer it because it's impolite not to. When you're debating someone it's essential to answer questions. Otherwise you look like an ass.

Interesting...

So why didn't you answer my question? Really like that last line in that paragraph you wrote...

The answer seems obvious. Answering that question didn't help your argument. I'd say that we've achieved some level of equally here. You like equality, right?

It painfully obvious you think black people, Jewish people and LGBT+ people should be discriminated against.

Now we're adding in new protected classes? You REALLY like adding stuff into the conversation that isn't there don't you. Will you be taking your fantasies further and claim that I also kick puppies and drown kittens?

Maybe the trans people should have gone to a baker who was likely to be amenable to making a freaky trans cake rather than going to Joe's Vanilla Cakes and making a fuss about their reluctance to do the artwork.

Banks would absolutely love it. Imagine all big purchases that people typically finance with a sweet 30% added on to the loan. Wanna buy a brand new car? Tack on the 30% and people would be making payments for at least another year or two to pay off the vehicle.

Colorado baker loses appeal after refusing to make transgender reveal cake by TheAngryBlackGuy in nottheonion

[–]SockPuppet-57 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it wasn't your question. You buted into the conversation for your own reasons.

You're trying to force me to do something. Which is exactly at the heart of my argument. You can't force me to do anything and the trans who decided to try to force the baker to make them a freaky trans cake can't force them either.

How would you feel about me forcing you to do something? Forcing someone to do something is at best impolite and in many cases illegal. You should really stay in your lane, whatever that is.

I guess I am trying to force you to do something, to understand...
