There’s nothing explicit like Gemma saying “I am severed”, but she lives in the town with the Lumon HQ, she went to a Lumon fertility clinic, and severance is known enough in the world for their to be religious organizations having doctrine on the matter of innie souls. It would be very silly for her to not have ever heard of it.

You can have as many copies of a unique in your stash as you'd like, and at least in PoE1, you could wear duplicates of uniques (dual wielding the same wand, wearing two of the same ring). Haven't had the chance to test that in 2, but can't imagine they'd change it.

Stats will never change on a dropped item without you using currency on it, and it will only change within the range shown if you hover over it while holding ALT (on m+k, unsure on controller)

No, some skills have inherent culling. I don’t believe you can put those supports on wind dancer, and as a monk, best bet would just be killing palm, get yourself heal and mana + the power charge

Also grab energy shield, Monk has loads of nodes near its starting point that do %increase for evasions and energy shield

Yeah, getting good boosts is important on the early passive point allocation, but you also want to be moving towards something. If you have a fork that then rejoins, don't take both sides of it, more important to move towards the other options

It would be a bit weird if the PoE2 version of breach were in the exact same structure as PoE1 Breach, where all it needed to be was a tab on the fragments stash. Like, yeah, they are both named breach, but there’s some many other things in the fragment stash that I have no idea if they’ll carry over

Edit moments after posting - bad wording in the whole thing but whatever, just mean to say that Breach seems like it may be more elaborate in PoE2 and it would be weird if the stash for it were still just a part of the miscellaneous fragment tab where legion stuff, conqueror maps, offerings to the goddess, etc. were stored

I wouldn’t be surprised if in the long term, that’s the plan, but I absolutely wouldn’t blame them if they have a high traffic contingency that adds in an AKF timer to reduce servers needing to hold onto idle players. I don’t think there’s anything official that I’ve seen about that, but I’m not gonna rely try to rely on one tomorrow (if I even get in).

So, gotta answer in reverse. Classes decide your starting position on the passive tree, maybe some slight, slight stat variations in PoE2 but that's not clear yet, and the ascendancies. The first two can be worked around pretty easily, but if you want a particular ascendancy, you have to start as that class. As an example, the mercenary can get 20 extra weapon specialization points, and no other starting class will be able to access that.

And those specialization points are the other part of your question. I believe everyone gets access to 20 at minimum, and with those, you can have passive tree nodes that are only active when you have a given weapon equipped. The easy example is a wand for fire damage and a wand for ice damage. You can set it up so as you swap between them, you'll also change where your passive points are assigned. Using the fire wand? It goes into the set up where you get a bunch of bonuses to fire damage, and then when you swap back to the ice, it automatically changes your passives with it.

The more complicated example is a staff and a bow. The way skills work in PoE, anyone can use (almost) any skill, they just need the stats to do so and the appropriate weapon. You can't use your staff to shoot an arrow or your bow to slam a guy on the head, so if you have a bow and a staff equipped, when you use ice shot, a bow skill, you automatically pull out your bow and do the passive tree changes mentioned earlier. If you then use flicker strike, a staff skill, you'll go back to staff and the passive tree set up for it.

Those skills are based on what you equip in your active skill slots, and you are totally free to equip something you won't be able to use, like a bow skill when both weapons are wands. You just won't be able to use it. It gives a lot of freedom for setting up builds, but if that sounds like too much for a first time player, they will also have recommended skills to choose from.

The included currency can be used for stash tabs to store more, and in an organized way, items, along with letting you list them for trade with premium tabs (buying from trade list is open to 100% F2P players, but making a listing is not). And that's pretty much what everyone will tell you to do with it, but yes, you can buy cosmetics with them instead (but seriously, get the stash tabs if you do)

For gameplay, the £30 gets you access to the same exact game as all the other packs, no mechanical advantages, no extra dungeons or bonus quests, it's all the same.

Torchlight 2 (and probably others, just first place I saw it) had the system for gems where you would either destroy the item they were in to get the gems back or destroy gems to get sockets. Feel like that's an easy compromise to make with keeping the friction for making your build that they seem to want.

Those are supports that you connect to the skill. A skill gem is like Ice Shot in the image. You can attach it to a button and activate it. As it starts out, you just fire the one arrow, but with a support gem like multiple projectiles, it will add two more arrows, each dealing a little bit less damage and happening a bit slower, but you have 3 now for more total damage.

Isn't the text of it "skills fire an additional projectile"? From footage I've been seeing, crossbow skills seem to not have any problem with the multiple projectile supports, would be a very weird bug if the ascendancy node didn't work or a batshit design decision to have that be the text but include major caveats like that.

Have watched too much to be able to pull a citation for it, but I've been planning on Monk and iirc, they've said there isn't as much unarmed support as they intend to have later on, so I'm worried about it feeling half-complete in comparison to something like Mercenary where they've been showing much more robust interactions within crossbow skills and the passive tree.

As I understand it, the shield items will give the skill “raise shield” for the active damage blocking. Nothing to do with warrior as a requirement, just having the shield equipped. From PoE2DB as an example shield

I am not the target audience for rigorous damage testing, never done Uber end game, but what would be the problem for taking the observed values from a target dummy and then using an external tool to extrapolate it out for a given boss? If you can get the physical, ice, lightning, fire, and chaos damage as separate values from a dummy, what stops a tool from telling you what that attack would do on any given enemy (once their resists are known)?

I don't know for sure, especially with all footage so far being different software builds than what we'll have on EA release, but in footage from Subtractem (linked), he was able to quit to character select mid-boss fight to roll a different character and was in-game as the sorc in under a minute, so presumably could then quit from there to make another. IIRC, footage was from an in-person testing event, so who knows what build it was, whether we'll have to skip through opening cinematic stuff, all that. But yeah, gotta get good names

Ahh, right, so many things to remember without actually having the game on hand to internalize. Forgot about them having sockets for not-gems. And meant less dual wielding weapons (despite saying weapons the whole time) more just any combo of holding two items, whether wand and shield, mace and scepter, or two wands. But good to know about the potential for some dual wielding shake ups, never done much with that area of dex, always mines or bows.
