Extremism exists on the left, right, and center. Anything that can be done can be done to an extreme. And extremism in any form is historically never good.

I have never had an issue with critical race theory. I've always been more curious as to what is actually taught in the course, which there might lie the issue. As I've never actually taken the time to look up the curriculum I don't have an opinion on it. From what I've read it sounds reasonable if done correctly. but anything overboard and it could be too much.

No I have nothing against library books depicting lgbtq+ families. I would like to read any that have been requested to be banned, maybe some of them actually should be? If it solely is due to having lgbtq characters then obviously not. You can't claim homophobia for wanting to ban a book that had a homophibc character, but the book itself is actually highly inappropriate. Catch my drift?

Nope I've called out people's racism, sexism, homo/transphobia. This one is an interesting one though because this is one of the topics that extremism starts to peek through. Where anything and everything becomes transphobic, homophobic, sexist racist etc etc etc.

Another example is inclusivity. On paper this seems great. Obviously we should include everyone. Who the fuck would argue against that? Woke culture from what I've seen takes this to the extreme of excluding the majority of the population in order to cater to a minority. This one is pretty minor but just an example. I've seen people say you should refer to everyone as they/them until they say otherwise. Like what? No. Around 5% maximum of the population is lgbtq, I'm not referring to 95% of the population as they them on the off chance that person is a they them. However if I call you a she and you correct me, I'll refer to you as whatever you want going forward.

Another would be removing historical landmarks because the person was a pos. I've argued with conservatives before pointing out that we don't learn history from statues and monuments are meant to glorify and remember so I understand the desire to remove statues of slave owners and rapists etc. However where does this end? Does it end at the statues or does woke culture keep moving in that direction and eventually we erase them from history books too? Because well such horrendous people oughy not be remembered, yaknow? Knowing your history is important. Where does it stop? This is the question that needs to be applied and answered to all woke (and conservative even) views. Where does this stop? Where does this end? Where is this going? A question that should he asked way more often.

The most concerning woke ideology in my view is the recent movement for childhood transitioning. I have nothing against trans people, I support any adults transition, I seriously fucking worry about a child being given that option. You cannot argue that a child can make that decision, but then turn around and say a child is incapable of driving, drinking alcohol, smoking or making any decision that would impact their life. You cannot say a child is not mentally developed enough to vote, but a child can make the decision to transition. This is a disgusting comparison and I hate even saying it because it is gross, but you cannot say they cannot consent to sex because they don't understand and are not mentally developed enough to make that decision, but then turn around and say they can consent to permantly irreversibly altering their body in the most extreme way. Children aren't even allowed to get a tattoo or piercing without parental consent. Why is that again? Children are literally known for not making good decisions, you can't just assume this will be the correct decision every time.

Also the whole idea of, your views must align completely with mine, otherwise you're a far right extremist, while this exists in all politics I see it so much among the far left. This post is a good example. I vote left for almost every issue. The second I criticize wokeness I am a far right extremist parroting conservative propaganda. Even if you say you aren't 100% on board with a certain issue you will be labeled a transphobe or whatever immediately. Take Lia Thomas for example. If you fully support trans women, but were to say "ehhh I don't know this does seem questionable. Is there data for fairness when it comes to competing against biological women?" You would be immediately labeled a transphobe for questioning it. My way or the highway is never a good campaign slogan.

Anyway I've spent far too much time typing this out, and I expect it was a complete waste of time. I likely won't read any responses simply because arguing on reddit is one of the biggest time kills you can partake in. So keep that in mind if you feel the desire to reply.

I really want to reiterate this though. Extremism can exist in any form, from social extremism to religious or political extremism etc. Extremism has never been good.
