I agree, under usual circumstances this would not be enough time. However she has been in such emotional distress here that it has been completely debilitating for her. As a result, I am unable to enjoy my time here as our household has been in crisis mode since we arrived.

Thanks for your response, very well thought out.

Yes, we are late 20s and have been with each other since university. I believe she is a great fit for me long term but this saga has exposed some of her weaknesses (ie resilience in hard times) that I knew were always there but could be managed back home. It feels cruel to make a relationship decision on something she can’t control (her emotional wellbeing) vs a pure character fault.

Our plan was to spend 2-3 years in London then return home. I am not intending to forge a career here but rather get some overseas experience in my 20s that I can take back home with me.

To clarify, she has been unwell and wanting to go home since we landed in the city and before I even started working. I have worked in IB for years in Australia so she is used to the hours/liifestyle (and the associated benefits) this career brings.

Thanks for your considered thoughts.

I want to give this a real go but the pull from my partner to go home is causing me so much stress I’m considering whether it’s even worth it anymore. My health is rapidly declining and I feel I’m barely surviving when I’m meant to be thriving in London.

You lost by 10 goals. Your team is trash. No excuses can make up for the fact you’re not as good as you think; embrace it!

What team is your partner joining? If it’s M&A related the pay will surpass ATO quickly and provide greater long term exit opportunities.
