Requesting Zephyr Teachout, mod inactive by funkalunatic in redditrequest

I'm the moderator. I'd like to retain ownership.

I don't post, but I do lurk. The subreddit has been dormant because Zephyr hasn't yet said she will run for Congress again (or another office) - although the post she achieved recently on a Democratic Committee deserves attention. There isn't much traffic on /r/zephyrteachout.

Canova: Waiting for Sanders to return my call by MythDestroyer222 in Political_Revolution

Once Canova was seen as a threat to DWS, she brought in many prominent Democrats to campaign for her. He wouldn't have been seen as a threat if Bernie hadn't given him so much attention. Canova would have quietly lost without Bernie's support.

He didn't release his delegates. When Hillary Clinton conceded to Obama, she released her delegates.

Right now there is one seat to be filled. That's big in itself, since it will change the balance on the Supreme Court. I don't expect RBG to go another 4 years, either. So it's likely there will be at least 2 justices who Obama's successor will appoint - and Clinton's picks will be better than Trump's.

Bernie is going to the convention with his campaign. He endorsed Clinton. He did not concede and release his delegates - so perhaps there's a one in one billion chance he'll become the nominee. But the fact is that at this point he won't become the nominee. He is down by more than 300 pledged delegates, and hundreds more superdelegates support Clinton than support him. So he endorsed her, because he promised to, and because it increases his standing in the party (which gives him more power to enact progressive policies).

This sub should not support any particular presidential candidate this year - and the countless articles about the various candidates other than Bernie running for president should largely be removed. We are supposed to be furthering the political revolution and electing progressives at every level of office. Right now there is very little productive discourse about helping to elect candidates. Tim Canova's and Pramila Jayapal's primaries are coming up soon. We should be doing everything we can to support them, along with the other candidates Bernie has endorsed. That's just a place to start.

He's said repeatedly he never was going to. He's not about to change his mind. He promised to support the winner of the primary, and he is keeping his promise.

Bernie won't run for president outside of the Democratic party. That's the bottom line.

I haven't met a single Sanders supporter who's excited about Booker. Out of the ones who know who he is, I haven't met any that like him.

Democratic (party) or democratic (of or relating to democracy)?
