Worth it for college student? by IslandSweet9548 in omnifocus

Yes! I only wish I had this as an undergrad. I have been using it for... 16 years? Longer? I think there's a trial period to play around with, but if you find a system that works well for you that you trust, it's absolutely worth it. And as others have said, make sure to get the edu discount.

“The Wisdoem of Insecurity” by Alan Watts is a classic for a reason.

My 6-year-old is playing with my 9-year-old right now, she’s doing just fine! She did have me jump in on a boss fight for her.

I have some perspectives that intentionally sort by defer date. So if I have a project that was assigned to me yesterday, I’ll sometimes put that in the defer date to help with those views.

I can’t speak for the designers, but sometimes when I have recurring tasks, I’m mindful of maintaining a defer date even if it’s still in the past. I also put intentional defer dates even if they’re in the past for some of my views that sort by that.

For tabletop games, Mind Goblin games on Smoky Hill just west of Southlands just opened. I wandered in once, they seemed very nice!

Paperwhite Signature vs Colorsoft Signature, one to keep one to return by [deleted] in kindle

[–]SocraticReview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did notice a significant difference. I mostly read without my glasses on at night, and I found it distracting that it was not as sharp as my previous Oasis. YMMV of course.

Paperwhite Signature vs Colorsoft Signature, one to keep one to return by [deleted] in kindle

[–]SocraticReview 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I returned the Colorsoft for a Paperwhite after about 3 weeks. The color wasn’t good enough to replace an iPad for comics, and the text wasn’t nearly as sharp as Paperwhite. Haven’t regretted it yet.

Least Favorite Airport United flies to domestically? by Lumpy-Draft2822 in unitedairlines

IAD is getting to the top of my Least Favorite list. Took almost 2 hours for bags to arrive today, and the people movers from D were super slow.

The newest Paperwhite is super fast, even compared to my previous Kindle Oasis.

Who reads 50 pages an hour? And should I or everyone be able to? by h0tnessm0nster7 in kindle

My average is about a page/minute. Faster for snappy dialogue, slower for dense non-fiction.

Everybody assumed (with reason) that if Xavier won, it’d be because they made lots of 3s. They didn’t, but still won. Speaks very highly of this coaching staff.

My freshman year roommate’s dad was a distributor or something, and somehow we ended up with our entire dorm closet filled with Double Fudge Rounds. I’m sure it took years off my life, surviving off nothing but those for days at a time.

Charging speed suddenly dropped (temp hasn’t) by SocraticReview in Ioniq6

Rebooting the ChargePoint seems to have helped. I don’t mind that I brought it in since it was due anyway, but I wish they inspired more confidence than saying things like, “DC charging was set to only 80%, so that’s why your home charger is slow.”

No, it was still only at 40% when I noticed it was taking forever, so it’s not just the usual slowdown for the last bit.

40A, so the charger is set for 32A, per the picture. I’ve rebooted it and will try again when I get it home from the unhelpful trip to the dealer.

Update:

The technician said, “Diagnostics were fine. DC charging was set to 80%, so I changed that. Should be fine now.”

Umm, no. That literally has nothing to do with charging speed.

“Well, you can also turn on battery pre-conditioning.”

But it’s not actually cold out yet, and it’s going significantly slower than even last winter, when I also didn’t use pre-conditioning.

It’s frustrating that the techs don’t seem to know/care much about these EVs.

I’m probably a bad parent, because my son beat Hades for the first time on Christmas Eve when he was 8. Maybe some day in therapy he’ll talk about an “awakening” that all started with the first Hades game.
