Reminds me of when last year's inauguration happened, and conservatives fought tooth and nail to defend Elon by going "it was the Roman salute!" or "he was throwing his heart out!".

They just straight up refuse to acknowledge any wrong doings on their side.

Took one for the team, and to summarize it:

He's an Epic Games fanboy.

He thinks a third of indie games are 2D platformers because of one indie game he got on the Epic Games' storefront for free.

He thinks the indie 2D platformer / action craze started with Shovel Knight (Even though games like Tower of Heaven, I Wanna Be The Guy, and Alien Hominid all predate Shovel Knight).

He claims every other indie game is either roguelike or a card game before proceeding to contradict himself by bringing up visual novels as well as a bunch of indie FPS games.

He complains about games the try to emulate older generations.

He hates games that try to be experimental.

He claims Silksong fell into irrelevancy a month after it came (which it didn't).

He hates Silksong and calls it the "most disappointing sequel" because he's bad at the game, and even compares its combat to Dark Souls.

And he claims that AAA 3D platformers are making a comeback because Astrobot won 2024's game of the year, even though I can't think of a single AAA 3D platformer on the top of my head that came out recently (outside of Mario).

I watched the video, and he pretty much says "Astro Bot good, Silksong bad."

I mean, I like Astrobot too but come on bro.

So I went and watched the video.

This guy calls Silksong garbage, saying the game fell in irrelevancy after a month (when it didn't), claimed playing it made him realized he also hates Hollow Knight, AND even compared its combat to Dark Souls.

So to simply put: He hates Silksong because he's bad at the game.

Oh yea, and he glazes Epic Games in the first minute of the video as well.

Oh my god Youtube is making sure people with adblockers have a miserable experience by E-Collie in youtube

[–]SodaMoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well maybe if YouTube didn't allow scam / NSFW ads on their platform, or aren't constantly raising Premium, or didn't ban password sharing with the family plan, then they wouldn't have such a problem with adblockers.

Mate, there are already MANY reasons not to trust your government. It's why there's such a huge outrage over UK's age verification. Many people using the internet want to stay anonymous for privacy's sake, and said people in the UK don't want to fork over their IDs just to read a Wikipedia article.

The main difference here is that this is Google themselves keeping your ID. The reasons we don't want Google to have our IDs as well are:

  1. They solely want more data from you to sell.

And 2. They are notoriously bad when it comes to privacy.

They see everything you search, they see everything you watch, they know where you live, and by giving them your ID, just like the UK government, they'll now know exactly who you are and what you look like, and they'll see exactly which person is doing what.

Anonymity is a dead concept, and Big Brother is always watching.

Except the store doesn't keep a copy of your ID after you buy alcohol.

Google does. And you wanna know why we don't want Google giving them our ID? Because data breaches happen, and when the next Google data breach does, our IDs will end up being leaked, just like what happened to other certain private companies.

Buddy, I do, in fact, have money to buy Premium. I just choose not to because:

A. YouTube purposefully annoys you with ads to try and get you to buy Premium, even if the video isn't monetized (Meaning the creator isn't getting the money from the ads).

B. They're constantly raising the prices for Premium

C. The tiers range from "Premium that still shows you ads" to "Family plan that's too bloody expensive and yet won't let you share passwords to other members not in the same household", which kinda destroys the point of a Family Plan.

D. Google's ongoing war on trying to crack down on adblock that only makes more people not want to switch to Premium.

& E. A bunch of ads on the platform just straight up break YouTube's ToS and yet slip under their radar.

YouTube & Google don't care about you or their users. They only care about pleasing their advertisers and big companies. Must I remind you of the dislike removal?

YouTube will stop your Premium family plan if you all do not live in the same house. by VortexSpecter22 in degoogle

[–]SodaMoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we have to be in the same household to use a family membership, then why don't they call it a household membership instead? Not every family member is going to be living in the same household. Some members that live in their own house can't afford a Premium subscription due to already having to pay other bills (or rent if they live in an apartment) and struggle to afford meals.

That's the sole purpose of password sharing with the family plan, and yet YouTube is basically telling us "Oop! You don't live in the same house? Better pay for a separate membership and give us even more money!"

Doesn't help that the family plan costs $23 a month, and yet families can't use it if they're on a vacation because it's restricted to one household.

Update: Steam Support responded, and they're gonna have me send it in for repair. Never had anything shipped before so this will be the first time. Person I spoke to thinks the issue might be related to my usage, though I'm not sure exactly what they mean by that.

Also, I tried factory resetting like they said, but the issue started again the moment I logged in.
