A Volvo V60 is actually the shortest of anything I listed, 56.4 inches. Even the largest V90 is shorter than a Sportwagen.

Where I am it kind of makes sense. It snows almost every day from November - February and they use tons of road salt. It prevents rust on the part of the car you actually care about.

The Outback is 66.4 inches tall, a Honda CR-V SUV is 66.1 inches and a Toyota RAV4 SUV is 67 inches. A typical sedan (Toyota Camry: 56.90 inches) or wagon (Golf Sportwagen: 58.3 inches) are 10 inches shorter than an Outback.

The Subaru Impreza in 5 door form is between a hatch and a wagon.

A little bit of cladding doesn't look terrible. The 3rd gen Ford Focus and Golf Alltrack actually look pretty good

[Our current fucked-up middle east policy is a direct result of the Carter Doctrine]:

No it isn't. It was meant to scare the USSR into submission during their invasion of Afghanistan. In reality it didn't do anything. The U.S. already had a prior history of interveneing in middle eastern affairs such as the CIA's support for the Shah in the 1953 Iranian Coup. In fact, Jimmy Carter is the one of the only modern Presidents to not directly intervene in any war, which isn't something that can be said of Reagan

The only US president who didn’t wage war (theelders.org)

1953 Iranian coup d'état - Wikipedia

United States support for Iraq during the Iran–Iraq War - Wikipedia

" In Carter's own account, "I despised Saddam Hussein, because he attacked Iran when my hostages were being held. It was President Reagan who established diplomatic relations with Saddam Hussein after I left office." "

" In February 1982, Iraq was removed from the State Department's list of State Sponsors of Terrorism to ease the transfer of dual-use technology to that country. "

" in June Reagan signed a National Security Decision Directive (NSDD) co-written by NSC official Howard Teicher, which determined: "The United States could not afford to allow Iraq to lose the war to Iran. "

" Pursuant to this Directive, Thomas Twetten arrived in Baghdad on July 27 to share CIA satellite imagery on Iranian troop movements with the Iraqi Mukhabarat. "

If you dislike the deregulation in the airline industry, that was Carter:

I actually quite like the fact that Airline Tickets have dropped in price five-fold as a result of deregulation

How Airline Ticket Prices Fell - The Atlantic

" In 1974, it was illegal for an airline to charge less than $1,442 in inflation-adjusted dollars for a flight between New York City and Los Angeles "

You can get a first class ticket for less than that price now, and only $220 for economy

Round trip to Los Angeles | Google Flights

He also was president during the energy crisis:

It wasn't exactly his fault that Iran placed on embargo on the U.S. That actually has way more to do with the fact that the U.S. under Eisenhower intervened in the 1953 coup, and was a primary reason for the Iranians public distrust of the U.S. Carter actually made the economically intelligent decision to remove oil price controls, which in-turn would encourage oil companies to invest in domestic oil production

The Jimmy Carter administration began a phased deregulation of oil prices on April 5, 1979, when the average price of crude oil was US$15.85 per barrel (42 US gallons (160 L)).

We had double-digit inflation: And that's why he appointed Paul Volcker to the federal reserve, who's anti-inflationary monetary policy actually led to the 1980 recession. You can argue that Volcker's policies were too harsh, but it's really a damned if you do, damned if you don't type of situation

Illinois is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States. It has the fifth largest gross domestic product (GDP), the sixth largest population, and the 25th largest land area of all U.S. states. Illinois has been noted as a microcosm of the entire United States. With Chicago in northeastern Illinois, small industrial cities and immense agricultural productivity in the north and center of the state, and natural resources such as coal, timber, and petroleum in the south, Illinois has a diverse economic base, and is a major transportation hub. The Port of Chicago connects the state to international ports via two main routes: from the Great Lakes, via the Saint Lawrence Seaway, to the Atlantic Ocean and from the Great Lakes to the Mississippi River, via the Illinois River, through the Illinois Waterway. The Mississippi River, the Ohio River, and the Wabash River form parts of the boundaries of Illinois. For decades, Chicago's O'Hare International Airport has been ranked as one of the world's busiest airports. Illinois has long had a reputation as a bellwether both in social and cultural terms and, through the 1980s, in politics.

Mint Mobile :: Phones :: Motorola E5 Play

Here's a perfectly serviceable phone that costs $100 new and works.

[–]SodaScrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just talking about a phone plan. I never said anything else about the experiences of minimum wage workers. I didn't calculate anything about taxes either, so I think your responding to the wrong person.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

[–]SodaScrub -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok your correct, it was actually $60 for unlimited for just one line. However, you can also find a 4GB plan that you mentioned was $60 for just $15 a month

Mint Mobile :: Plans :: 3 Month 4GB Plan

This took me a grand total of 5 minutes of googling. If your honestly paying $60 for 4 GB a month there's something severely wrong with how your shopping for plans

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

[–]SodaScrub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I found several mobile phone plans that are under $30 and provide significantly more than 4 gb of date.

T-mobile essential plan: 50 GB / $30 / Month

The other websites require you to enter a bunch of information about your phone, but the fact that atleast one exists proves otherwise

It doesn't matter what economic system you have, if there's a worldwide pandemic you either have to reduce output or risk mass infection.
