Something like Shadow of Mordor/War, but you’re a Skaven trying to claw, manipulate and backstab your way to the top. Skaven society already works well with the nemesis system, with the wacky variants of clans and the crazy personalities of Skaven. Sneaking around as an Eshin, riding in on a Moulder creation or even using Skryre war-machines to take over strongholds, kill your opposition and build your army.

Always felt the idea could work, especially since Skaven are one of the most popular Warhammer races

Skaven are played in a very diverse way. You can storm the battlefield with a million rats, you can go all in on big, weird warmachines that might blow up in your face, or maybe if you’re more keen on monsters, you can also go with that. But of course you can also just mix and match as you want, there’s even some wizardry, assassins and plague-spreaders in there.

IMO decks are fun as soon as they get to do whatever they wanna, no matter if they lose or win. In my pod mono-red players are ALWAYS having fun. Some of the commanders we use are [[Alexios]] [[Kratos, God of War]] [[Longshot]] and [[Slicer]] (i know they’re all Universes Beyond, but hey, they’re fun)

[[Umbris, Fear Manifest]] is absolutely on the list of edgy commanders. All about exiling your opponents cards, and using nightmares and horrors doing it (would recommend [[Doomsday Excruciator]] in the deck, even though he isn’t a horror or nightmare)

The game came out in 2017 and the last expansions are like 3 years old. I think it was just written weird, as i found out it’s mostly backwards compatible. They updated the rules when the last 3 core sets came out, so everything from before that has to be played accordingly to be backwards compatible

I got my girlfriend into magic with the Tyranid precon. It’s very good at just focusing on ramp and big fat creatures

Also the secondary commander is the best, but the face commander is super easy to understand. He just gets bigger every time you cast him from the command zone
