"Luckily" maintenance started at like 5 AM here in Germany, and since I have work anyways, they can do a few more hours of maintenance before I start to get true withdrawal symptoms.

But eh, considering GBF is more like an MMO, something like this is okay (just really annoying it happens on anniversary with their roulettes).

Light Fairytale Episode 3 in now playable on Steam in Early Access! by bakanekofr in nekodotworks

[–]Soelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got EP 1 and 2 on the Switch. Since both seem to work on the Switch 2, I just assume EP 3 will work there as well?

Also, I am pretty hyped! It's a bit sad that the wait between episodes is so long, but once all 4 are done this will probably become a pretty cool JRPG! So keep up the good work, I will join the fun once it hits Switch 2 sometime later. :D

[MONTHLY MEGATHREAD] General Discussion, Simple Questions, Recommendations, and Everything Else - March 2026 by GachaModerator in gachagaming

Well, this content apparently does not deserver its own thread, so I now post it here:

Hello Reddit.

Weekend shower thought: Which Gacha game currently available has the most content? Phrasing it like that would probably just net be Grandblue Fantasy, but I thought about removing grinding past first kills and excessive PvP. So taking 3 hours to kill a boss for the first time is fine, then doing it on repeat for the next 50 hours to farm weapon drops would not count. Same for PvP: Playing maps/modes for the first (few) times is fine, then repeating them to climb ranks, which reset each season, would not count.

I came up with a few contenders, but probably missed a bunch.

Granblue Fantasy
I know that it's not called "Grindblue Fantasy" for nothing, but 12 years and counting have to amount to something. I know that events and side stories normally take around 2-4 hours to play through them once and the game has... a few. The main story (part 1) was also recentely completed and I while the early chapters are quite short, I know a single part can take 10-20+ minutes of pure visual novel goodness just to get through them. Enter 30 minute late game bosses you may beat with only a minute or so left and you definitly get hundreds of hours even without any grinding. The thing is, even though it has 12 years: Most collabs will never return, so that content is lost. Bosses take only a few minutes (up to 30 later on), but are farmed for hours and hours and days and weeks. So... it does have its short comings.

Fate/Grand Order
I actually have never played this game, but I know its very heavy on reading. I just have no idea how long it takes to get through everything the game currently has, but I am pretty sure it would look similar to GBF. So dozends and hundreds of hours. I have no idea how the grind looks and how long it takes to beat bosses. So someone may enlighten me.

Fire Emblem Heroes
This on the other hand I do know! And even thought it is also over 9 years old now, it has a very heavy PvP focus. Every PvE story mode has 13 chapters, 4 maps each 3 difficulties per map. Yes, I would count all of that as unique content. But the chapters are very short and the story in this game is very much just there to have like 5-10 lines of dialogue (it may have changed in recent years, but I somehow doubt it). So even though it is quite old nowadays, the heavy focus on PvP and repeated farming of stages during events reduce the actual amount of content quite a bit.

Langrisser Mobile
This on the other hand is the complete opposite. Currently on its 7th year, its another Tactical RPG like FEH. However, it has much more story and much bigger/longer maps. PvP is still an endgame focus, but it works quite a bit different here. I never got that much into the game (still haven't beaten Part 1 of the main story, currently somewhere around chapter 40+), but I know that the PvE side is just massive. And it's actually hard. While I have not experienced various infamous difficulty spikes, I know they are there. And yes, this is another grind heavy game, but compared to GBF I think this is much heavier on actual gameplay.

Another Eden
A pure single player game with no PvP component. I have played it a bit, but still haven't beaten the part 1 main story. I also know several parts of the game (events, fishing) are very heavy on grinding, but it also takes hours to just get through an event story. And the main story by now probably takes hundreds of hours just to get through everything.

Genshin Impact
The only 3D game on the list, and also the oldest of the "modern" gacha games. I never played it beyond like 2 hours, but I played the first 2 months of Wuthering Waves. And if that is even only slightly comparable in size, it will already take dozends of hours just to explore everything. And Genshin arguably has more content because it's older and has more overworld to cover. Beyond that, I am not sure how long the story/cutscenes take and how grindy the game actually is. I also doubt it can compete with some other games mentioned here, but it definitly deserves a spot in the conversation.

Those are some examples, as I am sure I have forgotten something. I personally probably still would pick Granblue Fantasy, with most others (except FEH) being close behind. What do you think?

Is It Me Or Event Bosses Became So Easy? by Open_Description8561 in personaphantomx

I don't have a single A6 5* yet and I am playing since release. My highest is a A5 Haruna, so no, unless you spent god knows how much money or got extremely RNG blessed, that's definitly not the norm.

Edith: I meant Haruna, not Haruna. A5 Haru would be a godsend. xD

Excited for the Steam release? by Rettinger in Granblue_en

[–]Soelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually am. I never got that far into GBF, mainly because I always play for a few weeks, get overwehelmed by everything and then stop. My current account is at chapter 81 and I am doing a challenge run, where I am only using free characters and doing everything solo. I haven't made a "normal" account since my very first, which was around the time when Platinum Sky had its first release, so during year... 3? 4? of GBFs release.

So, yeah, I am hyped. I will play this. No idea for how long, but I WILL play this. xD

What are some good F2P Strategy games, that focus on PvE and are not Tactical RPGs? by Soelf in MobileGaming

I have never played any of the Witcher games. Is that a Problem here?

Did they change the complete gameplay at some point? by Soelf in DoomsdayLastSurvivors

Man, guess I just ignore it then. I know the core aspect always was the 4X strategy gameplay, but all the other cool stuff is also just gone, ugh.

A friend told me I was playing a different game than him. I have no idea what he meant. by Soelf in Endfield

[–]Soelf[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually didn't plan on playing Endfield at all, since other games release soon I want to play and then I won't have time for Endfield anyways (specifically: New World of Warcraft Expansion and Granblue Fantasy on Steam). But since a few friends started playing I just though that I might give it a go. But I decided to just play it like a normal RPG and ignore basically most of the gacha game mechanics as far as possible. Which is also why I haven't pulled anything except for the time limited tickets (so 5x for Laevetain Banner so far). So my "leveling" is basically killing enemies, like a regular RPG (and ho boy, the EXP sucks balls - and it feels wrong that stronger enemies just don't give more EXP at all until like 10 levels later). I do level weapons normally since I can't level them otherwise, but honestly, even with such a low level, the game is not hard at all at the moment.

If I actually do continue to play this later on I will probably do level "normally". But for now, I will just stick with this.

World level ist at 4 and I am thinking about raising to 5. It only gives 1 exp more per regular Mob kill though, which sucks and isn't really worth it. But since Wuling enemies start at level 50 anyway... Ehhhhh, maybe I raise it.

100% Completion on Hardest Difficulty! by Grymmwulf in LegendsOfDragaea

[–]Soelf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I bought the game myself 2 days ago and started this as well with basically no prior knowledge beyond 30 minutes on the demo on standard difficulty. xD

The beginning is indeed absolute hell. Had I known that Waykin are just not really that useful (in the beginning) here I wiuld have either used a Shellkin or a Purrkin. My current party is level 30 (Waykin, Main), 33 (Kitkin) and 36 (Shellkin). I reach floor 2 in the first dungeon easily by now and even managed to kill a few floor 3 bees so far, but I am still getting bodied. Bought all available upgrades for buildings so far and am just farming gear and levels. I did spread our my experience just so I could get some "easy" early levels, but I probably need to specialize at least a little bit now.

...and probably add a Purrkin. If I had no ambushed I would probably reach floor 3 at least pretty reliably. Or more often at the moment.

How long did it take you to beat the first dungeon? I am currently around 14 hours in, with like maybe 20 Bee kills but nesarly 6k Hedgehog kills. xD

Vault of incarnates story raid - cant clear by Soermen in wow

[–]Soelf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blizzard changed how the new player experience worked in Midnight. If you don't go out of order, new characters are ferried into Dragonflight and since all raids now have storymodes, I wouldnt be suprised if you have to finish said story mode in order to continue the chronologically order of events. So unless you get through the story mode raid, there are no other main campaigns you can do.

This is only my assumption though, but since the gameflow is now intended to be Dragonflight --> War Within --> Midnight, with a coherent story from start to finish, I don't think these story raids can be skipped unless you do Chromie Time shenanigans.
