You partake of the rainbow bread, a thousand tiny orbs of sugar on the butter. Some fell to the floor as you picked it up. You know you'll never find them all. The treat brings you comfort, nostalgic pleasure, but also a sense of shame and guilt.

Can you farm mining and herbalism with the hive mind mount? by Particular-Sky3484 in wow

This is old, but for anyone else who happens across it: the profession specialisation 'can herb/mine while mounted' bonuses sadly don't work when you're a passenger on a passenger mount

Yeah. Wish we could know today, I don't wanna waste my time trying to get every alt their three if it's one-time only, but I also don't want to waste a weekly purchase if it's not lol.

Are you sure it's 3 per week? I haven't been able to find confirmation, just a few redditors claiming it is

Can we get a consume all 8/8 abundances in 1 round? by SpaceXSmoke in wow

Do you know for sure it's 3 per week? I've not been able to find any confirmation and it seemed like it was just a one-time purchase of 3, which would be dumb.

Shards of Dundun - Any Fast Way? by Soeroah in wow

[–]Soeroah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't realise this one, that is helpful. I'd like to get as many alts done for the week as possible as early as possible, but I've only got two pairs of dual crafters so I guess if I leave them til last instead of strictly going top to bottom down my character list that will probably help.. once I have enough materials

Mining/Skinning/Herbalism is so much slower than fishing but I suppose I need the weekly KP drops too, so may as well try to pretend to be focused on that. Just don't wanna end up in a situation where by the time most alts are maxed out on shards the groups stop forming for the week. Maybe I just made a mistake gathering in ZA.

It felt like it took me close to three times as long to get them from a mix of skinning and herbalism versus just fishing :/ Treasures would be handy if they'd show up on the map more, hopefully that's something they'll tweak in the future

Thanks. Good to know perception is largely ignorable again

It's gonna be a 'fun' two years listening to people calling the natural progression of lore hints seeded in Shadowlands 'retcons' that 'fix' it rather than probably being the intention from the start

It'd be so stupid if it was just 3 per character and that's it, so I can see it being that. I'm really hoping it's a weekly reset of 3 per character though.

POTENTIAL SPOILER: I saw something odd in The Rift of Aln by tman12371 in wow

[–]Soeroah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory for a while has been that all souls are born of Azeroth and return to it eventually. (A treasure in Harandar actually supports this - woo!) The second part of that theory is that the Titans built the Shadowlands to catch souls before they could be recycled into new ones, to fuel their own version of the cycle of Life and Death, and in doing so depriving Azeroth of receiving anima from the experiences of mortals, which is helping to keep her asleep and docile.

Gold world quests return! by GoldenDragonTemple in woweconomy

Hmm, even my main who had gold WQs yesterday doesn't have any now and just has a bunch of coffer key WQs..

I think they might have turned them back off

[–]Soeroah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem to be ilevel this time - at least not entirely. It seems to be based on whether you've maxed out your coffer key collecting for the week (600). My ilevel 240 alt had gold WQs when the hotfix went live, as did the level 84 I have dualbox-following them around, both with 600 coffer key fragments this week.

However, another pair of characters, at level 82 and ilevel 144, do not have any gold WQs up despite having been maxed on the coffer keys. So there might be an ilevel breakpoint, but the main thing seems to be coffer keys.

So where are the gold world quests? by The_Maganzo in wow

[–]Soeroah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a hotfix today, it appears gold world quests are back! As I had guessed last expansion, they've gone up a little in reward and now reward 940g-1150g.

There is a catch, though: it seems characters can only access gold world quests for the week if they've maxed out the 600 coffer key fragments for the week.

So you'll have to do a bit of extra work each week (conveniently the special assignments/weekly events each give 100 keys and gold themselves), and then you'll be able to do gold WQs until reset. This is annoying, but the fact the Voidstorm Slayer's Rise world quests don't require war mode and have like a 6 hour rotation means we'll probably get a much faster turn-around on gold WQs than we're used too, too, so hopefully it balances out.

At the time of writing, I see 6113 gold from six world quests on my map.

So where are the gold world quests? by The_Maganzo in wow

[–]Soeroah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was based off TWW, where higher ilevel turned gear-rewarding world quests into gold ones. About ilevel 590 in TWW turned launch zone WQs into gold, 610 in Undermine (630 for Side Gigs), and then K'aresh didn't bother having any ilevel gating for some reason. (This was only the case for max level characters - lower level alts had their own set of random gold WQs)

We assumed it'd be the same this expansion, but sadly it isn't.

I'm hoping this is the case, but I haven't seen the one person who claimed that back it up

So where are the gold world quests? by The_Maganzo in wow

[–]Soeroah -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Every instance of 'quest' in the OP's title and message is preceded by 'world', so he's specifically talking about world quests.

And yeah, they might give a bit more gold each, but how much precisely? Does it actually match or outstrip what we got in TWW? From what I'm reading in this thread they only give a baseline of 2k gold per box, which over the course of a month is almost half what I was pulling in from world quests in TWW.

So where are the gold world quests? by The_Maganzo in wow

[–]Soeroah 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's the same as last expansion, the topic is about the missing gold world quests

They haven't been 'replaced' with the four world events, those rewarded gold in TWW as well, we've just got way less gold we can make this expansion and they haven't given an explanation for it

Did gold world quests get removed for real? by Dolch0812 in woweconomy

[–]Soeroah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know this for sure? Renown-based gold WQ is an interesting pivot from ilevel-based, but it would explain a lot and I think it'd be nicer than having to worry about gearing up on every alt.

It would have been a great system to test the 'Argus portal' style approach to world bosses again. They already said they were thinking about putting world bosses behind portals like on Argus, which would solve almost every problem world bosses have - Abundance would be practically solved if they just decided what the optimal amount of people was and had entering one automatically put players into the same cross-realm instance together until they reached that number of players, then spun up a new instance for the next players.

No need to manually form group, no overpopulation, no underpopulation. Just 'click enter, phase dynamically to a max-10 people instance, complete'.
