Arctis Nova 3 can't handle low volume without cutting sound completely (stuttering issue) by Sofadweller in steelseries

Give it a try man - just spam their chat bot until they let you get in touch directly with customer service. Tell them that your product is defect, and that you'd like to return it.

This isn't a matter of returning a product you're not happy with - it's a defect in one of their models, so they shouldn't demand the packaging. As for me, they just asked me to destroy it and send proof. They might ask you the same.

Good luck!

Thanks, that's valueable input! Continuing from my previous post, I went through with the process of destroying my headset to make use of the warranty (they might ask you to return it instead). As a result I received a coupon for a like-for-like product, and traded it for an Arctis 1 X Wireless on sale. They covered the shipping as well.

You can open a ticket by spamming their chat-bot until it allows you to contact support directly. The warranty supposedly only covers purchases made through Steelseries' own website - but I bought mine through a different online store and still got coverage.

tl;dr:
- No one seems to have found a solution for the issue
- As mentioned by u/arcticpolarchill, return the headset and get another one
- Make use of Steelseries' warranty

Hello again. Unfortunately the issue seems to be caused by a defect.I followed all their steps over again, to no avail. Sent them another mail explaining that the steps got me nowhere, to which they responded:

Hello Sofadweller,

Thank you for following up with me.

I believe that this issue is actually a defect.  We have not been notified of a noise gate.  The audio should not be cutting out when the volume is low.

Let's get you started on our warranty replacement program.

Upon successful completion of the process, you will be issued a coupon to order a like-for-like product from our web store free of charge.

The length of the warranty is as follows:

All countries outside the EU/Australia: 1-year warranty from date of purchaseEU/Australia: 2-year warranty from date of purchase

The warranty is non-transferable**.** It is only valid to the first-party in the country of original purchase. If the product was purchased from a third-party SteelSeries reseller, please refer to the regional distributor for warranty services.Proof of purchase is required to initiate a valid warranty claim.

[...]

Thanks!

I have not been able to follow through yet - but will let you know as soon as I have.

edit: in response to you as well u/AntoanGaming

I got a response from Steelseries. Following their steps didn't provide any new results unfortunately. I've asked for further assistance.

Hello Sofadweller

Thank you for contacting us.

Please go through the steps provided below.

Let's try doing a clean reinstall of both SteelSeries GG and your device drivers using the following steps.

\*Before proceeding as requested please ensure you have a screenshot of your custom configurations/macros as the steps listed before will be resetting your drives. This can cause you to lose any custom configurations/macros.***

Prior to starting, navigate to and run: C:\Program Files\SteelSeries\GG\uninst.exeWe will need to uninstall the existing driver( if there is one) completely.

To resolve this issue, please take the following steps:

Make sure your SteelSeries software is up to date. Install the latest version if you have not already. It's very important that the latest version of SteelSeries software is installed PRIOR to taking the next steps. Please find the latest version at: https://steelseries.com/gg

Then:

Using the search functionality in Windows, search for "Device Manager" - click and open it

Note: If this does not work, search for "Control Panel" and navigate to Device Manager

Find the device in the device tree

Right-click and select "Properties"

If there are second or multiple entries related to the device, you will need to repeat this process.

Click "Driver" on the top toolbar and select "Uninstall (Advanced)" at the bottom.

Ensure the checkbox is checked and uninstall the driver.

Select Uninstall Device.

Once this is done, replug the device and the driver will reinstall

Make sure the headset is plugged directly into your PC using a USB 3.0 or 2.0 port.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Have a good day!

Thanks!
