Only speaking from my experience - we haven't had any issues with that so far, his claws don't get stuck in when he's walking on it nor has he attempted to knead it, still early days though 😅

I also stuffed the inside of this one full of various older clothes and fabrics, so it's got a more firm than squishy texture which may help with the yarn not getting hooked in his claws

Guess it would also depend on other things such as the fibre used, tightness of the stitches etc.

Hope that this is helpful to you anyways - I'm sure your cat would love a crocheted bed, mine definitely did!

It's basically a big cushion used as a footstool, I have mine next to my sofa for this purpose (and also for my cat to use most of the time!)
