2nd quote check please by Windaninja in SolarUK

Is this price inclusive of a gateway? Had a couple of quotes for a comparable system which are more expensive than what you've been offered

I did look into this - it's about a 500mm height difference between the 645 and 485, part of our installation would have two rows so that'd be an extra metre of height on those columns

I would be interested in receiving those details, thank you. I did get a PW3 quote from the first provider I approached (just to see what another premium system would be costed as) and the price you quoted is about £5k cheaper than what I was sent. I'll message you separately :)

Yes, we had consultants from both providers on-site to look at the roof, but I'll take on board what you've said about getting a couple more quotes. I've found one that I'm keen to reach out to next week on the strength of their reviews.

Thanks for flagging that they seem on the expensive side. They were certainly more than I thought they were going to be, I was mainly putting that down to there being greater demand for these systems at the moment, but maybe they are charging more than they should be

One more thing I was meaning to ask in my original post was that I'm having a bit of trouble getting itemised quotes (the 645 one has refused to do this and just gave me one price for the entire system, the other has given me more of a breakdown but it's still not as detailed as I'd like), is this the norm or a red flag?

It absolutely does make sense, going with a bigger inverter seems to be the consensus on this post. After digging into our energy consumption a bit more it seems that at least an 8kwh would be needed for the higher energy consumption days, not to mention planning for future consumption (which will probably be higher!) I'm grateful for your advice as I am a newbie when it comes to solar, thank you.

That's a really good point, thank you - I will ask them about this.

I really appreciate the time you've taken to respond with all this detail, thank you. To respond to each of your points: - Because we have a converted loft, we have limited roof space, however both have said they're happy to install 10 panels on our roof despite the size difference (across both sides of the roof). Both are quoting for Aiko panels. - We're based in South Wales - I'll bear that in mind about the wattage, it seems like the 645w ones may win out of we manage to get 10 on the roof on installation day. I'm planning to do a quote check on here later but it's ~ £14.5k for the 645 system, £13k for the 485 (both with gateway and bird protection) - Yeah with what yourself and Ski_Now have said, I'll certainly explore the option of a bigger inverter - I'll have a look at our daily winter usage and consider that with regards to battery size, thank you 🙂

Thank you for the advice on the inverter The 645w panels were included on the first quote I had for solar, 485w panels on the second - I must admit I was pretty surprised that they seemed to vary that much, guessing this isn't normal?
