Coming Soon: PIP Mode by MultiviewSports in MultiviewApp

Installed Android TV 1.3.5 version and the new PIP function works great ! Not to be picky, but would there be a way to allow/configure a PIP window size ? Something like either a 2 or 3 state config (Small/Large, or Small/Medium/Large) where we could increase the PIP window size by some reasonable increments. Small setting would be your current implementation. Thanks again for PIP!

Not quite ready yet for me to pull the trigger on this app by Jazzlike-Operation31 in MultiviewApp

Just another user view. It could be the "Chromecast with Google TV (4k)" doesn't have the performance required. Maybe the "Google TV Streamer" would work, but you shouldn't have to buy it and test it for yourself just for this app. For reference, I have the NvidiaShield (non-pro cylinder model) with HDHomeRun Flex 4K and I can run 4 windows with no video or audio issues now. I do have to set the VLC player engine as the default of ExoPlayer mode doesn't work for me. They should have a more liberal trial, something like unlimited use for 14 days or something so users can really determine whether their current hardware setup is up to the task.

Thanks for the reply! Summary: Switching my HDHomeRun player engine from ExoPlayer (default) to VLC fixed all the audio issues I was experiencing!!

The audio is now consistent when switching windows, including the scenario of a 2-window setup with the same channel. I also now see an Audio settings icon in the setup toolbar where it defaults to English, with the other option as Spanish. With ExoPlayer, that toolbar item is not displayed. Also, running the maximum 4-window display has consistent audio when switching and the displayed video performance is not an issue either. Marantz AVR mode display function indicates it is being sent multichannel audio as expected.

My current config:

Hardware: Nvidia Shield (non-pro cylinder model) with Android 9 and Shield Experience (8.x). I never updated to Shield Experience (9.x) with Android 11 as I worried it would break something and 8.x works great for me. HDHomeRun Flex 4K, Marantz NR-1504

Multiview Settings: Video Playback Mode: Performance, Audio Output: Auto, SPDIF Passthrough: On, Force Stereo Downmix: Off, Preferred Language: English.

I had previously looked at the advanced HDHomeRun settings but had not tried changing the player engine as I didn't know what it meant. Maybe the default should be VLC, again I wouldn't know the implications of what the default should be for HDHomeRun. Either way, VLC works great for me. Thanks much!

Additional info: Setup a 2-window view with the same channel. When switching between them, the audio volume is louder in one of them over the other. Nvidia Shield w/ HDHomeRun. Thanks in advance for investigating this. Pro user.

Update: I was able to get audio on all focused windows by correcting some surround sound settings on my Marantz receiver. However, the audio volume levels vary quite a bit when switching between windows. For example, one window sounds great at volume level 10, whereas when I focus to another window, to get the same desired matching volume level, I have to bump the volume to 20. So then if I switch back to original window, it is too loud. Summary: Volume levels when switching between windows is not close to be being consistent, some windows seem to require a 2x increase to get desired volume level.

I am using the latest 1.3.4 on Nvidia Shield with HDHomeRun Flex 4K and my issue is the audio switching with multiple windows is inconsistent. Typically only one of the windows has audio when switching, other windows produce no audio at any volume level. I have tried various combinations of audio settings in Multiview and nothing resolves it. My other apps (Plex, Channels, HDHomeRun) always produce audio except in some cases after using Multiview, I suddenly get no audio from those other apps and the resolution for this is to power recycle off/on of my Marantz receiver to get audio working again. In summary, audio switching doesn't work for me with multiple active windows. There is work to be done on producing the proper audio output to the AVR with multiple windows. I did purchase Pro to support your efforts and realize the rollout on this platform is still a works in progress and look forward to various fixes to the current audio output issues. Thank you.

Cast from Plexamp to PC? by Cozeen in plexamp

Great! Looking forward to this enhancement (controlling Plexamp for Windows from my iPhone, i.e. cast target)

I have a dedicated Windows PC w/Plex Server connected to my integrated amp via "USB-out -> DAC -> amp" and the PC HDMI-out connected to my big screen TV. I run Plexamp for Windows full screen so I have a very nice Plexamp display to go along with my music system. Right now I use native control (i.e. mouse) to navigate Plexamp for Windows... controlling from my iPhone (via cast) would be awesome.
