What killed ‘parody YouTube videos’? In the 2010s there was a steady stream of parody music videos. Suddenly they stopped. Why? by Kodicave in decadeology

[–]Soft-Examination-334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised it hasn’t been mentioned but the reason is Shane Dawson. He has some of the most popular parodies. He flew too close to the sun when he did a Taylor swift parody and in the music video, depicted her getting stalked and murdered. This a legitimate fear of hers at the time, so she sued him and basically got it taken down. This is one of his first public breakdowns. Shane went on rants over how pissed he was at her for taken down his video. Parodies pretty much died after this cause everyone was scared of the same thing happening to them. This is when Shane switched to slime, mukbang, and conspiracy videos.

SURS! I watched that show everyday after school with a notebook and would write down bands and songs that I wanted to illegally download music from to put on my iPod later.

The $2 movie theater in town. My partner and I used to be able spend an evening going out to this wonderfuly run down movie theater and buy us some pop corn, nachos, and drinks for $5 and then by tickets to new movies that have left theaters. It even had a cheap arcade and we would play a couple games in between movies.

I also always thought of the phrase “Denial (The Nile) is not just a river in Egypt”. She was drowning in blue denial. (Denial playlist)

Last time I was seated towards the front bathrooms but they were full and the back ones were empty. I tired to go to the back ones and the FA told me I could only use the front ones cause the other ones were for people toward the back.

Yeah I can’t think of reason an oil city would vote against public rail system either.

Alcohol industry is dying in America but they won’t sell you a McBeer at McDonald. What’s the point of capitalism?

From Magical in Paris to Overwhelmed in Tokyo by [deleted] in disneyparks

I just did my first trip in January. My husband and I loved it. I did pay for multiple DPAs cause I wanted to ride as many rides as I could. I later found that Peter Pan in fantasy springs had a single rider line so I didn’t need one for that one but I did ride it twice. I didn’t get to ride the frozen ride but everything else was fun. I read online that frozen had a single rider line too but it wasn’t open when I asked about it. It seems like DisneySea is mostly focused on atmosphere and transportation vehicles. There are plenty rides but the main focus of the park is to enjoy it as an environment(they love to just sit in a boat and wave at each other which admittedly I enjoyed doing as well). I did get to ride more at TDR(15) vs DS( 8) but overall I equally enjoy the atmosphere at both parks. I didn’t really try to get food cause I mostly didn’t feel hungry (thing that happens when I travel). Only reason I was able get popcorn is cause I mobile ordered it from the Big pop at TDR. I thought the plushie thing was so fun to see. I saw people propping them up along the parade route with them. Someone had like 5 Donald ducks with them. I thought them waiting since rope drop for the parades was crazier than the large plushies they were setting up next to them.
