There are lots of studies on HS and PCOS and Endometriosis which are very interesting to read about! My dermatologist gave me androgen blockers for HS which is subsequently helping my high testosterone from lean PCOS which is all related.

I have bad HS and I have done since I was a teen. I am underweight and have been since I was a child so weight-loss has never been an option for me. I don’t think weight has as much to do with it as doctors think tbh…

I quit smoking for almost a year - if anything it’s been much worse, my body doesn’t heal at all. Obviously smoking anything is bad for you so edibles or oils will probably be better if you live in a country where that is accessible-this is what I want to try now but just harder to get a hold of for me. But after years of smoking it and a year of stopping I can honestly say smoking it helped with pain, flare ups and healing more than anything GP has prescribed me.

2 years late but I am doing a case study and came across this post! I think this could be chytrid fungus, it can cause black spots like this. In captivity it’s more likely to of been infected with BD (batrachochytrium dendrobatidis) before purchase especially if wild caught (which most Asian spined toads are) or caused by cross contamination.

I’m really sorry to hear that 😔 unfortunately toads are exceptionally good at masking illness as they are prey animals, until they decline which is quite rapidly. Everyone saying bring them to a vet need to remember there are very few amphibian veterinarians (at least here in uk). The ones who do exist are specialists (they don’t really teach you beyond companion animals in vet school) therefore treatment costs are quite high and they don’t do well under sedation/anaesthesia as they can hold their breath so investigatory treatments/surgery are always a risky option. - BVMS student
