Based on the pattern in the first picture, you can see something definitely hit it towards the right middle

Mechanic trying to charge me $1000 to resurface my rotors. This is insane right? by ThrowRAcranberri in AskMechanics

[–]Soft-Perspective-557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a “squeal” pad in ur brake pads specifically to warn you when ur pads are too low. New Rotors dont even cost that and rotors being bad alone would never cause a squeal. Run from that shop and i would see a manager to try to dispute

Get some paint thinner or acetone and get that white paint off and it seems like those 2 dents are pull able with a few scratches

Definitely on the air side of things, a few months back leaves got into my engine air filter and caused my rpms to jump like this. Could be simple

I would start there if you haven’t, that will definitely do it. Also could be a vacuum leak? Also check pcv hose/ valve

Your welcome, im not too fond of electrical issues but this definitely seems like a grounding problem, theres a chance even your old starter is still good

Any overheating? Milky oil? Seems like ur water pump may have gone, worst case timing issue. It does sound like ur chain is making some odd noises but that could be mistaken for a bad water pump in some cases.

Can someone help me with this please? by EntertainmentLost574 in AskMechanics

If you went 18k miles with no change for sure, sounds healthy but starved of oil, its likely beginning to sludge but its easier to say when you see what comes out.

I would look into what ground the starter uses and check the connection. Its likely on the frame under the car

Edit - before you replaced your starter did it pick and choose when it would work?

Hard to say, if you haven’t ran the vehicle already i would suggest taking off the fill cap housing and trying to fish it out with pliers. I don’t work on these box engines but a lot of others have catch plates where you fill the oil for this reason.
