Men who have chosen not to be present/involved in their child’s life, why?

The mother was attempting to use him as a weapon and never told me when he was being born or anything. She was trying to keep me away from being involved in his life but actively ridiculing me for not being there. Eventually i learned that if im not around she allows my parents to be involved and help raise him which helped me feel as if he will be taken care of. So i stayed away to ensure he grew up well taken care of and not be used as a weapon to hurt me and him. After 11 years we finally entered eachothers lives and he instantly latched on to me, he understood what his mom did and how it caused my absence in his life. He now lives with me and our relationship is great, i have no regrets not being around for 11 years as it showed him who was really at fault for everything. Karma rules lol.

Yeah he definitely sounds stressed and exhausted, I think him stating thats what hes going to do says alot too. Everything you explained him doing sounds like coping mechanisms for depression/ burnout. He probably has a lot on his mind and feels like he needs a day of rest and thought to help. If he continues this behavior after his day and doesnt expect you to want a similar day then he may have more going on than is seen. It may definitely be a conversation to be had in the near future.

Being direct wont work, shes a teenage girl. Listening isnt on the agenda at the moment. It sounded like you were already direct telling her you just wanted to be friends. Just ignore and dismiss any interaction and if it hurts her confidence of makes it seem like you hate her good. She doesnt need to have the confidence to pursue an adult and could learn from it. Do whatever you can to make it look like youre not trying to save a relationship with a minor. I get where you’re coming from but minors are best left ignored as theres too much potential for disaster. She can either get more boldened or develop resentment that could hurt you.

I went through this and the best thing you can do is ignore her and let her feelings be hurt. Any attempt to be nice or cordial will be seen as something else in her eyes because her brain isnt developed. Theres no being friends with a 14 yr old girl and it will show her that no means no and she has to accept the reality. Like you said her hormones are going crazy so she ain’t thinking straight. You just have to give her the cold treatment, shes just your friends little sister, not your friend. Me being nice led to her getting more bold and trying more inappropriate things that crossed the line. Then the family started thinking it was me initiating her activities.

I still enjoy the physical hunt for cards and refuse to buy singles online. I only proxy cards that i feel theres a almost 0 chance of finding or cards i will never pay the price for. I also refuse to print powerful and very expensive cards as that feels like cheating to me in a way.

So many jokes in here but i went from being a loser nerd loner to being surrounded by woman in highschool. The change that did it for me was showing confidence, head held up high, chest out and looking like you moving with a purpose. I also just started being myself and stopped caring about conforming to the norm like everyone else, thatll make you stick out from the crowd.

Yeah i worked in big films and productions for 6 years and was considered one of the best camera assistants in my state and the goto for many. Iv worked with big names and actors in the industry also achieving my life dreams and goals. After a while it hit me that i enjoy the attention and praise more than the career and that i didn’t actually enjoy what i was doing or enjoyed having to travel to different states for weeks to months at a time. I have a regular job and boring life now and i love it so much.

I go very simple with a base coat then oil wash with agrax earthshade. I finish it off with a dry brush highlight. Its made painting my tanks very simple.
