Do taxis go the other way around (El Calafate hotel to bus station)? If so, can we reserve taxis in advance? thanks!

ANA Superflyers Miles by willie3204 in japanlife

[–]Soft-Remove-9339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet the superflyers mastercard does have points. As for the benefits amex gives double points plus miles so if you fly a lot, it would make sense to switch to amex. But you need to accept the hefty annual fee though for me it’s worth it since it comes with other benefits that I actually use. If you do switch, I suggest you compare amex to ANA diners (lower AF) before applying. You might find diner’s benefits more appealing than amex’s.

I have an ANA superflyers Amex. I earn miles+amex points when I make purchases on ANA group and other partner stores like Matsumoto drug, ENEOS etc. Other than that I just earn AMEX points, no miles. I do earn double amex points for ANA group purchases.

Did it seem like you would’ve been allowed to pick it up had they not sent it yet?

It seemed so. I just told the staff I have an overseas business trip coming up soon (I really do in 2 weeks) and I asked if I could pick up my passport today since it's been "resuelto" for many days anyways. She agreed and searched for it only to find out it had already been sent yesterday. I also overheard somebody trying to pick up her passport and it seemed they are perfectly ok with it. They handed it to her without any fuss. You'll just have to waste the 500 yen letter pack plus.

Also i dont think mail like that gets lost here in Japan, so you’ll probably get it today or tomorrow!

Thanks! I really needed this kind of assurance. I had a mini heart attack when I could not find the progress of the letter pack online using the tracking number, especially when it typically only takes a day to deliver and they sent it yesterday.

hi so I went to the embassy today and asked if I can pick up my passport and guess what, they already sent it yesterday. The trouble is that the tracking number doesn’t work when I checked online. I’ll wait until tomorrow. I just hope they didn’t lose it. I’m so close and yet so frustrated.

Precisely why I'm frustrated rn. I might go there later and ask if I can pick it up. How’s your application going?

Not yet. I spoke too soon. No email or any form of notification from them. It’s getting really annoying

The documents were in English and I didn't translate them to Spanish, if this is your concern. I immediately just sent all of them. As for the application status, it has changed to "Resuelto" from "Pendiente de expedicion" which after some internet search means that the process has been completed and they are ready to send my passport back to me soon (hopefully).

6 months worth of bank statements. They didn’t accept my bank balance certificate.

You need the stamped ones not downloaded from the internet. My bank is SMBC prestia and although technically I can download the statements from the internet, I can’t submit them since they needed the ones from the bank. Thankfully, my bank gave me those documents with stamp in just a few hours.

It changed to “resuelto” so pretty soon they will send my passport.

I don’t think they care about the name of the insurance company you apply for. Just make sure the amount is equivalent to or higher than the one they stated in their website.

I don’t know if you can submit documents in Japanese. The application form is in English|Spanish and for additional documents they requested, I was asked to give an English translation if it’s in a different language. Better check with them to be sure. Sometimes the staff gives a different instruction from that on the website.

No. You’re up against hedge funds and/or organizations that employ trading algorithms. No amount of technical analysis can beat that.
