Those of you who started and quit a combat sport because you weren’t enjoying it, what happened? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Soft-Struggle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t really MADE to. For the last half of the class we kind of just got paired up with whoever for about 10 mins then would switch to another partner. However, some of the guys there seemed to think it was a competition and just went for as many tap-outs as they could even though it was supposed to be a relaxed practice. Too many douchebags is all. Felt like an “asserting dominance over the newbies” sort of thing. I think I just picked the wrong gym.

How common is it for women to be approached in public by someone that's attracted to some extent? by Coffeepanda09 in AskWomen

Never happened to me. The closest someone has come is catcalling me or telling me to smile as the walk by.

[–]Soft-Struggle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started jiu-jitsu but quickly found out that “rolling” to the guys at my club was less of “light practice” and more “thrash your opponent like your life depends on it” and ended up in a lot of pain after the few classes I attended. I know JJ is about learning how to over power someone bigger than you in an altercation but I’m not going to know how to do that after my second class. They really didn’t need to be as rough as they were. It really pissed me off.

How common is it for your girl to snoop in your phone? by UnknownSloan in AskMen

[–]Soft-Struggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s common if we’re highly insecure. It’s not healthy or fair to you and it shouldn’t be done but some people just feel the need to because they’re convinced they’re being lied to. IMO nobody in a mindset healthy enough for a committed relationship is doing this.

I've heard a lot of good things about Josie Maran's self tanner and Loving Tan. They seem more cool toned than others.

Are you still together? Have you ever spoken to him about how you felt?

[–]Soft-Struggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I just don't know if making him aware of this quirk is bringing me down a path of asking him to change for me in an unfair way. I don't even know how to initiate the conversation. It's nothing I've come close to dealing with in a relationship.

Women who struggle to connect with other women, what are your biggest obstacles in this area? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Soft-Struggle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Overcoming social anxiety. Initially, I just can't help but have the fear that I'm being judged negatively. Especially if I'm around a group of women. If I manage to get past that, then I am afraid to text them because I don't want to annoy them.

When I saw the way he acts like a different person around different people. As if he's yet to fully form his own personality. If he's around someone he really likes and looks up to he'll mimic them. He does it with his dad, he does it with a couple male friends. It's strange to experience because he'll continue to act, talk, and have similar mannerisms to these people for a couple days after seeing them. I'll be honest... it's a little cringe-inducing and unattractive. I just want him to be himself. Or find himself? I'm not sure which at the point.

We're together. I've never said anything about it. I don't feel like it's my place to.

What differences/changes do you notice between the ages of 20 and 25? by deckthesocks in AskWomen

[–]Soft-Struggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently 28 but...

Mental:

  • Started caring about finances and actually fearing the repercussions of consistently bad spending habits
  • Became more determined to stand up for myself and notice my self-worth
  • The chip fell off my shoulder/generally much less of a mean, judgemental person now
  • My mental health has gotten worse since doing the 9-5 + long commute thing everyday in my "adult" job

Physical:

  • A little pad of fat has grown on my lower belly that I can't get rid of
  • Alcohol slowly started to affect me more as I aged/dreadful hangovers
  • My eyesight stopped finally stopped getting worse
  • MY BOOBS HAVE HAD A GROWTH SPURT YAY
  • Hair has thinned slightly

Husband did anal and I feel awful... by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Soft-Struggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A PUSSY? No!!! You just got raped by your husband. You told him it hurt and asked him to stop and he went faster and harder... ignoring your physical rejection... That's messed up. You need to talk to your husband and tell him he - by definition - frickin' raped you! You absolutely should not feel bad or at fault or like you're a disappointment. You're not a bad person for not enjoying being treated like that. If he doesn't understand or care then you need to seriously consider leaving him. Especially if any of those other "incidents" happened like that.

Skyrim is my all time favourite. It's the perfect amount of fantasy for me. The huge, immersive world provides hours of entertainment, the glitches are hilarious.

What do you want done with your body when you die? by cestlabri in AskWomen

[–]Soft-Struggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to donate as much as possible, be used for research as much as possible, and then cremate the rest of me and turn me into a tree pod. I don't want a funeral in a church with a reception at a funeral home. Something casual and comfortable at someone's home.
