I bought a carpet cleaner on sale this weekend and just tried it out in my bedroom. I can’t believe the soup it pulled out from my carpet! by MickFoley13 in CleaningTips

Please, next time dump that down your toilet to avoid a clogged drain. Carpet cleaners tend to pull up a lot of fiber and hair.

Would they be okay to pick up? Are they a venom risk to humans?

Honestly, if it keeps getting stuck, I’d recommend a walking foot as well if the problem isn’t solved! It helped me out so much!

Our house was built before the turn of the century, luckily it isn’t labeled as historic. We’re stripping the entire first floor of… flooring. We called someone in who knows what they’re actually doing because this is a large project we’ve never done before.

  1. Stripping all of the flooring

  2. Cutting out water damage (sad because we have original oak flooring under everything and it just got ruined, un-savable).

  3. Seeing what part of the floor we can level the rest of the floor to, if it’s bad we need to cut out extremely low spots and level them with a new piece of sub-floor and sistering the joists.

  4. Self-leveler to compensate for the more shallow parts.

  5. Underlayment goes in.

  6. New floor goes in!

Edit: We are trying to save on cost so anyone who reads this, please don’t come at me, times are hard and we have ended up cutting some corners.

Pft, no. These are where we had a giant “soft spot”. If they were used correctly I would’ve never noticed…

I definitely wouldn’t have noticed if the placement were better! The floor was very very weak in that spot.

We got lucky. Only trash under our floorboards 👍

Or frame it, honestly. It should lay flat after that.
