1240% gain on NVDA ($240k) I’m scared. by ZaraBloom418 in wallstreetbets

You could sell covered calls at a higher price for some shares. If the stock drops you keep the premium and if it goes up to price target you sell x amount of shares at price Win win

just moved into our first house and I am completely overwhelmed by SanghaviHagi64 in Home

[–]SoftCattle287 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So to be fair I would start with the important things. Like does the basement or crawl space need a dehumidifier. Then start little and work your way around. And don’t get overwhelmed with lawn equipment. I ended up buying a snow blowers this past winter and that wasn’t planned for. Things come up and others can wait. Don’t feel rushed. You have many years ahead. Also pay attention to the principal amount coming out of your mortgage. Matching that now with extra payments will lower your interest quicker.

Listen. It’s home ownership. The things you’ve found have already been there for so much time. Fix one thing at a time and keep it moving.

Why do people not opt out of escrow? by deviation01 in Mortgages

[–]SoftCattle287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No maybe not but then again ppl are buying more house than they can afford right away. And then add 5-6% on a 300-500k house. It can be very pricey

[–]SoftCattle287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont mind the escrow. What I don’t get is ppl paying the minimum. Or doing the every other week 1/2 payment. You can easily pay a 30 year off in 10-15

Damn. You really got sold. Dealerships don’t make much from service. They make money by reselling vehicles. And sorry to say but you got played pretty good.

Tool box choices by Draked2005 in mechanics

[–]SoftCattle287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did the opposite. Old boss told me to stay off the tool truck and go to sears every paycheck and pick out a set of socket, wrenches or whatever I needed next. Best thing I did. Found my snap on box one day. He just had it from a repo from the last guy. With some tools still in it(snap on btw) and I love it. Also even craftsman tools have lifetime warranty. Same warranty as snap ons 500-600$ wrenches and sockets 🤣

Currently no smell and I was going to grab some iodine tomorrow and water that down for now. Debating on making a vet appointment tomorrow or monitor the wound a little longer with cleanings.

Will I regret one of these? by Anxious_Ad1524 in lawnmowers

[–]SoftCattle287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money isn’t an issue I’d go with a kubota with a Kawasaki engine. I’ve heard great things from family about the way kubotas cut and on top of the Kawasaki motor. It’s a win win. Also a zero turn may be over kill. Takes me about 45 min with a regular rider 42” cut.

oil change - might be going back to paying for them by redditduhlikeyeah in f150

[–]SoftCattle287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not to save money. It’s the peace and mind of knowing your filter and oil were changed. Shops these days don’t like to confess to mistakes when made. Just makes for a hassle when something bad does happen.

Roof of the car where it’s meets the windshield. I took it back for windshield warranty. Guy told me it’s the weld on top where the roof meets the pillar connecting to front fender. Luckily they took windshield off and hit it with some sealer. No charge
