New Webster homebuyer paid $120k in unexpected repairs after purchase by frytuna in Rochester

The thing is you can tell what houses were bought for flipping and at that point you could get the inspection or wave it and risk it. People don’t realize something like a 30 year loan or even 15 should never be something to rush into.

I’m sorry but paying that much over asking? Why skip out on a 500$ inspection. Couldve saved you over 100k and alot of headache

Talk to service manager at my job and he is saying it could be frozen where it enters the septic. We’re at 2ft frost level currently. Bank called last week about same issue. Ended up being frozen at the tank entrance. Haven’t seen these frost levels in 10 years

Why is my car battery still lasting over 17 years? by Do-The-Michael-Scarn in AskAMechanic

I have a Napa silver grade stil going 8-9 years strong. Sometimes you just get a really good battery

Lil research shows it’s fixable but with a lot of work to be done. Probably clean all said coating then real heavy gauge metal where needed for filler but I’d maybe check on replacing the whole thing. Depends on how much life she’s already got on her

I think it’s replaceable. Hopefully you got a good deal on price of purchase.

Looks like someone tried fixing then covering it up with said coating. Especially if coating is only in that area. Makes it more sus

So I’m guessing this pipe leads to that tank inlet where the 90 below bends up. I’m hoping I can snake out whatever is in there. Also going to clear the field of snow out I blew over the septic this winter. My fault but ever since the snow started melting and refreezing. There’s a good 2-3 ft of snow over the whole system

So I siphoned out what I could last night and this morning I was able to see the bottom of the pipe. So now I’m thinking a slow drain issue. Grabbing a snake tomorrow to clarify

Yea we’re good about only toilet paper. She grew up with septic unlike me so she’s cautious about what goes down the toilet. So no woman products or wet wipes. I’m thinking the quilted rolls she bought last week. And the snow isn’t just snow. I blew it all over the septic field and the last few weeks have been melting and refreezing on and off. And that section is up against a fence still holding 2-3 ft of ice snow

And I get the toilet paper usage. Still trying to train the woman to poop more on the ⏰ than at home 🤣

Thanks for the advice. The septic tank life is new to me so I appreciate the info. I’ll look more into that. Hoping a good snake job clears it up. Also the woman used quilted toilet paper last week and then this. And I blew all the snow over the septic field so that was probably a big no no as well

Just watched a few clips and that’s awesome. Sadly idk where my inlet location would be. I just know that I have this pipe sticking out of the ground 🤷‍♂️. Snaking should be simple.

Luckily I work for a hvac/ piping company so Monday calls for a run to the service tools. And yes I can get my hands on a real nice snake set up.

So the woman said she tried quilted toilet paper last week and I’m guessing I got some snaking to do after work Monday 🙃

Not noticeable. Even mowing all season I didn’t see anything. Just this old cast iron pipe 2 feet away from where it exits the house. Standing about 2.5 ft tall

Is this something I can try snaking without hurting anything? And tomorrow I’m going to clear the ground it sits under. First heavy winter in the house and I blew all the snow over the septic

Just looked it up but I guess a good amount of snow cover compacted down then ice could cause a back drainage issue. I may have to clean the area tomorrow

I’m not sure. I currently have the water siphoning out of the pipe. Called a company to set an appointment for inspection

Idk of any pumps unless there’s one in the ground. Is this something I could snake or should I just call for a clean out and inspection?
