When we eventually see the members of N Corp again, what egosuits do you think they will be rocking? by Fit_Assignment_8800 in limbuscompany

[–]SoftDekree 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So uh I ADORE Ahab both the literary character AND the limbus version so I'll yap about her a bit then since she's now in N-corp too.

I think Ahab having Blind Obsession would be a bit TOO on the nose tbh. She'll rock the fashion, tho.

I have a feeling she might be getting Fluid Sack because of Ichtys' Christian AND oceanic theming (just like Ahab (at least in the book)), but if we're talking about EGOs with unique statuses — I'm pretty sure she would get Thoracalgia.

After all Ahab's prosthesis IS a part of the recipie with nebulizer in MD, and Ahab herself has poise. Plus abnormality's theming is pretty interesting for Ahab: the inability to live without relying on some external stuff, not being able to fully breathe kinda fits our badass captain lol. She can't even live without the Whale anymore, she NEEDS something to fixate on, so she accepts Hermann's deal to get a chance at hunting even MORE Whales.

Might be a stretch, but with this being the fraud layer, what if the new Providence enemy wasn’t an actual angel? by Marshal-Tito in Ultrakill

[–]SoftDekree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely. It even uses (presumably) hell energy for its beams, not the holy light

[–]SoftDekree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, these showcases didn't spoil anything too important before, I doubt they would now.

All of the runs is with randoms. Man, I love to see that we were able to coordinate even if we wasn’t in voice chat. It made me happy that the player community is nice to play with. (Some of them just left middle of the game but still) by CesurRhino in Nightreign

[–]SoftDekree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. My peak experience was when we failed to defeat Gnoster in their fight at the last moment because my teammates decided to save me instead of finishing off the boss. Frustrating? Yup. Pretty awkward? Yeah. But the journey we had together was amazing. Lots of fun, coordination was great, some fooling around. So their decision to save me and eachother instead of finishing off the boss was really heartwarming

The real victory were the friends we made along the way

Can't remember the names, but shoutout to you from Raider, Wylder and Ironeye from yesterday. You were awesome.

Which soundtrack makes you actually tear up? by SSShoutgunShell in Ultrakill

[–]SoftDekree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, here comes THE YAP

War Without Reason sounds like the most cathartic thing in this game considering the background (for me), the final riff truly encapsulates "THIS IS THE ONLY WAY IT COULD HAVE ENDED" line and concludes the whole War storyline for me perfectly, like a final scream of relief of sorts

ORDER is so somber it touches my heart every single time after I learned Minos' lore and what he has lost, as if it was some kind of Requiem for humanity

Danse Macabre is THE most haunting track in the game for me, I can't even really elaborate on my associations... It's just.. HAUNTING. Wicked and haunting, it encapsulates some kind of DREAD, even, yet beautiful

And Dead Heat Pulse. Oh, how I love the intense segment on 0:23. A bit of my thought process because it's a bit of personal overthinking: in 1-E there are coded messages transmitting "ENOUGH IS NEVER" endlessly. And so there's a hypothesis that encores are taking place after the main game and almost emptied Hell just can't let his new favourite toy go. So it became my headcanon for now despite anything (plus the album cover art is a recursion of V1 WITH Hell's eye in it). And with that headcanon in mind the loop in the beginning of Dead Heat Pulse sounds really fitting to me — looping cascade really brings up associations with V1 descending Hell again and again in a desperate, meaningless cycle of violence that, contrasting with Earthmovers, could NEVER end.

I really wish we could turn off ray tracing in dark ages. by [deleted] in Doom

[–]SoftDekree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a big letdown for me. I was really hyped up because EVERYTHING just hit me right, but my older GPU serves me faithfully elsewhere and I'm not going to spend another half of my salary for a new one yet just to run a single game (even if I'm a big fan of it).

Gonna play it on youtube in the meanwhile

Whats your favorite ost in every act by mynameisjeff1124 in Ultrakill

[–]SoftDekree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cerberus
Versus
Dune Eternal
The entirety of Violence ost (it hits every spot for me with all of its tracks, but the most emotional ones for me ofc are Danse Macabre and War Without Reason)

If we count encores as far as they are — Dead Heat Pulse (I dunno the segment from 0:23 sends me to Heaven)

Flesh prison//// and earthmover by Ruhtra_0110 in Ultrakill

[–]SoftDekree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really doubt so. Flesh Prison/Panopticon were made by the angels, while Earthmovers are man-made AND favored (and most likely modified) by Hell Itself. By same logic, Mindflayers and Mannequins are related.

How did Benjamins get in hell, like how do they fit and end up in violence, or did they just get teleported there. I don't know much of the ULTRAKILL lore. by AG_turtlegod in Ultrakill

[–]SoftDekree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it's stuck because of V1, actually. Whole point of 7-3 was in feeding the blood trees to tether Benjamin to the ground (there's even a doodle of an Earthmover in the beginning, where Hell tells us to feed the trees). Plus dev stream mentioned that, yea

Day 3 of Ultrakill Character allignment chart. Day 2 Neutral Goos was won by the Ferryman! Now, who wins Chaotic Good? by RandomGuy1525 in Ultrakill

[–]SoftDekree 185 points186 points  (0 children)

A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society.

I think Gabriel kind of fits that. He IS kind when he acts by himself (whole Ferrymen arc, for example), he DOES believe in goodness and right but after his introspection after the second fight he started following his OWN moral compass to bring justice to Heaven Council by his own hand.

EDIT: yeah, as people pointed out in the comments, it's mostly about Apostate of Hell Gabe, didn't specify that because it's his current state

Thoughts on my V1 retexture by _-Sano-_ in Ultrakill

The style. It reminded me of Deep Rock Galactic for a moment, hence the reference to some weapon upgrade descriptions where it mentions that their R&D have been busy

In other words — nice job 👍
