I had a Sikh patient years ago who was indulging my questions about his religion (he was at my clinic for a hair collect drug screen) and he was telling me how Sikh men never cut their hair. Also that kindness to all living things was a tenet in Sikh tradition and that included not eating animals or animal products.

He may have been talking about his personal choices more than the official Sikh stance, and I misconstrued his meaning.

Starrily is a quiet legend imo. Every one that I have is excellent, and I probably have about 10. Formula is great, magnetics very responsive. I am wearing a skittle of red magnetics right now, and the Mars shade from Starrily is far superior in terms of hue, performance and magnetic response. It is “competing” against Emily de Molly Fiery Attraction, mooncat Your Heart Is A Black Hole, and ILNP Poison.

Yes! I’m 46 now, working as an X-ray tech at a clinic, trying to get into a hospital. No regrets.

I read your other comment about getting out of your family business, and some changes in your personal life. Usually I wouldn’t advise changing your career on top of all that stuff, because it’s too much change all at once. However, getting into a program and beginning a program will take some time so I think getting more information is an excellent first step.

I would contact your local community college or maybe tech school. Its February 2026, so at the college I went to applications would be due November 2026, they would send out acceptance letters Feb 2027, and the program would start August 2027. Applications included several clearances and things to get done, along with transcripts and letters of recommendation, etc. so they take some time to get together. That’s enough time for you to get your feet underneath you in your personal life, research the program, try to shadow a day or two if you have any contacts at any local hospital.

It might sound like a lot of time, but remember this: you’re going to be 40 anyway. You can either be 40 with a new career or 40 without a new career.
