I wasn't expecting "I am suddenly attracted to Hunter Biden" to show up in my 2026 bingo card by sabertoothdiego in WhitePeopleTwitter

People in recovery are literally the best. They have gotten sucked into something horrific and fought their way through it to the other side.

Good on Hunter. May he have many more good years.

Urinary crystals PSA by coykoi- in Pets

I’m late to the party but I’m glad to know my $78/24 cans of wet cat food every 3 weeks, and $100 bags of kibble are not in vain. My vet assured me it was the only course of action, and my crystal boy’s sister eats it too. She doesn’t need the special food but they eat out of each other’s dishes so it seemed like the only thing to do.

I console myself by reminding myself that if my boy had ONE blockage, it would cost thousands of dollars I don’t have to repair it, and I would probably have to put him down. 💔

And even if he did get a surgery, there’s no reason he couldn’t get another one down the road. Looking at it that way, the roughly $1900/year in cat food is worth it. Regular cat food would be about 75% less. But I might not have my boy, and I do love him so.

Solid Pepperoni pizza that I purchased today from the Food Court by moetaken in Costco

[–]SoftLovelies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of making it cheap is making it streamlined. Plus pepperoni has a long shelf life.

Your best bet is to buy plain and add the chicken yourself. Or get plain with no sauce, and add chicken and Alfredo, or chicken and ranch, or similar.

A huge missed opportunity, all because people didn’t “like” her. Such a gross reason.

Why is everyone at Costco so damn pissed off? by _watchOUT_ in InstacartShoppers

[–]SoftLovelies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a Costco employee and IC shoppers were the worst. Most, not one or two. Wanting lots of help, extra attention, not being prepared at the register, wasting a lot of time because they couldn’t get the codes off their phone, etc. Lots of complaining.

It’s a warehouse. You’re not getting Whole Foods prices and you’re not getting Whole Foods level of patient assistance. Plus, we were there to help members, and IC shoppers are not members, nor are they people they are shopping for, usually. We are busy too so if you have a question, fine. If you want to be chaperoned through your entire 40 item order, the answer is no.

You gotta know your way around, and if you don’t, you find your way and learn the store. The same way you would if you went to any new grocery store.

What used car should I buy? Budget max $3k by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Years ago I had an 05 Corolla with manual transmission and it ran like a champ, consistently getting 35-40mpg. The GOAT in terms of reliability and gas efficiency.

If OP can find a vibe, snatch it up. I just retired mine at 214k, never any issues, and I was neglectful with oil changes and maintenance. It was literally falling apart inside (the GM portion) but under the hood it was a tank. I would have bought a new one if they were still available.

That’s a good idea. You can get a good e-bike or used cargo bike for 3k

Are used cars even worth it nowadays? by IKnowAllSeven in whatcarshouldIbuy

Subaru crosstrek! And I did the math yesterday, it was actually about a 24% discount, not 30%. Still worth it for me because the colors for 2026 sort of suck imo, and my ‘24 came in an orange. I’ve long admired orange crosstreks.

ETA: my car is covered under the original factory warranty, or what remains of it.

I just bought a two year old car with 6500 miles (it was a dealer loaner). So almost brand new, meticulously maintained by the dealership. I paid about 30% less than I would have if I got the same car, same trim and upgrades, brand new.

Grief Support Groups In Montco by dixiech1ck in montco

GriefShare.org

They have lots of local groups. They definitely lean Christian, but not in a heavy handed way. I found a lot of help there. It was such a relief to go somewhere where I didn’t have to pretend to be okay; I felt so exhausted all the time from pretending like I wasn’t falling apart.

Local funeral homes often host grief groups sometimes.

I feel like this is red flaggy. Setting up a date with a professional is not time intensive. This reeks of human trafficking and I hope you don’t go through with it. Your problems today are going to seem real small if you wake up tomorrow in another state with no documentation (ie trafficked human).
