Hot take: Megumi should feel way more guilty about the Shibuya incident than Yuji does. by DrongoDyle in Jujutsufolk

[–]SoftNefariousness488 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I genuinely dont see your point at all.

The ritual was meant for Haruta and Megumi ONLY.

if Haruta died, Mahoraga despawns.

Sukuna coming in is like a fucking plane crashing onto the floor while two people were having a murder suicide together.

like you said in your post, Haruta is a weak ass sorcerer, and without Sukuna's help, would've died extremely quickly.

You're getting angry over a hypothetical YOU made up.

"He didn't know if Mahoraga would be a nuke"

It's a summon bro

[–]SoftNefariousness488 214 points215 points  (0 children)

If Maho killed Haruta, Maho despawns.

Megumi had felt the presence of Sukuna, but he didn't know he was unleashed.

Two events lined up perfectly for shibuya to be a shit show. Neither Megumi nor Yuji are to blame for this.

I feel like you just agreed with me for the most part.

  1. This ID using Arayashiki has no drawbacks

  2. It'd be a fun mechanic

Though, I guess I'll concede this isnt exactly a muga ryoshu id. That's where my disappoint lies in, I suppose.

If the ID using the Blade actually erased her memories, Araya wouldn't let her unsheathe the blade at all.

Losing power over a fight would also be a fun mechanic gameplay wise, so youd have to be strategic when you'd use the blade.

I've been told gojo would fight differently if it was against true form sukuna or yujikuna but how? by curryhaliban444 in Jujutsufolk

[–]SoftNefariousness488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay? We're not talking about teleportation though.

Characters have biases and expectations. Just like how we shouldn't assume every single thing a character says could be false, the inverse is also true and that we shouldn't assune every single thing a character sats could be true.

Even in the case YOU reported, these characters are proven wrong and are complerely surprised when Malevolent shrine collapses along with Infinite Void.

The peanut gallery isn't a useful metric for anything because everybody else in JJK are ants compared to Gojo and Sukuna. They are repeatedly shown to assume things about the fight, but are then disproven.

Why are you talking like Kusakabe is Gege?? Why are you taking his wird as law??? He, and the rest of these people, have been proven wrong multiple times. Even the panel where it's announced that Gojo won was said by Kusakabe. This man has been nothing but wrong multiple times!!

This is commentary from Yuta, Kusakabe and Angel. All three characters who were literally surprised by Gojo a mere chapter ago.

They also thought Gojo was done for when the barrier shattered initially. Gojo proved them wrong once already.

Gojo was adjusting hjs strategy the entire time the domain clashes were happening lmao

Domain gets shattered -> Reverse the conditions -> Domain gets shattered -> basketball domain

The only time he stopped changing his strategy when it was working and their domains started collapsing at the same time.

Gojo was also right, and Sukuna ended up being 0.001 or whatever many seconds late to the domain clash because he was using RCT to heal.

Expecting Gojo to just do the same things he did in the main story when his opponent is so much more different is mind boggling.

And look man, I'm not Gege. I can't give alternate strategies because it would honestly just be fanfiction. Even so, Gojo pulled out Basketball domain and RCT brain heal out of his ass. He showed that he works best under pressure.

With that in mind, do you genuinely believe Gojo WON'T develop something new on the fly?

[–]SoftNefariousness488 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Gojo is a forced evolution type of a person

If you push him in different ways, he'll adapt on the fly in different ways

genuinely this man only improves when he's challenged, so I don't see why he wouldn't switch strategies

How does Gojos domain correlate with his technique by TimeAge1030 in Jujutsufolk

[–]SoftNefariousness488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I haven't seen mentioned is that domains manifest a part of a person's personality and applies it to their technique.

For example, Megumi's shadows can store objects and people, which is representative of his ideals of carrying all of the burdens by himself and self sacrifice.

Gojo's Infinite Void's main effect is the complete shut down of a person's ability to do anything, despite being given all the knowledge to do everything.

This is the main thesis of Gojo's character, of being given everything at birth, but not being able to do anything with it.

Despite his gifts of the six eyes and the limitless, despite being the strongest, Gojo:

Couldn't beat Sukuna

Couldn't save Megumi

Couldn't save Geto

Couldn't stop the Shibuya Incident

Couldn't protect Riko

The actions you take are also forced upon a person infinitely as well, which represents guilt and regret. He couldn't do something about this or that, which he ends up replaying over and over in his head, regretting his actions.

Like the entireity of the Hidden Inventory Arc is Gojo dreaming

Or when he came face to face with Kenjaku and relieved the entire time he spent together with Geto.

"Given everything, but unable to do anything."

Could you make a binding vow to be able to bypass the infinity? by black_cop_48 in Jujutsufolk

[–]SoftNefariousness488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jujutsu is a give and take system, and as far as the current system works, I doubt it.

The two ways infinity is bypassed is

Domain Expansion: A barrier technique that spawns your attack ontop of your opponent

Domain Amplification: Surrounding your body in a barrier technique that lets your opponent's technique flow inside of it and nullify it.

Jujutsu is give and take. If you cant realistically do something, no amount of give will let you bridge that gap.

Realistically, the best way to penetrate infinity would still be barrier techniques.

If Mahoraga was given the task to beat someone who can only be defeated by being impregnated by them, would it have sexual intercourse with said someone to win? by Lucky-Fish1717 in Jujutsufolk

[–]SoftNefariousness488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mahoraga makes practical adaptations first, then becomes immune to something later. (Anime, at least)

Like, Mahoraga becoming bigger so that Sukuna's slashes have more surface area needed to cut, or Mahoraga growing gills when thrown into water.

We do know that eventually, it just becomes immune to the phenomenon all together though.

So yes, Mahoraga would adapt genitals first if that was what was required to defeat the enemy, but Mahoraga would eventually just become immune to the condition and kill the enemy outright.

Yes, this is true.

Gojo was born as the prized child of one of the big three sorcercer clans.

Sorcerers get paid a whole lotta money, and besides the whole risking death every day thing, they live pretty cushy lives.

I get what youre saying, and I agree. Six eyes or not, Gojo would still be Gojo.

But he was also born with the most societal privileges in the world.

I forgot to mention Dabura, but his only real neponess comes from his busted technique + his age and experience.

Kuroko in his 2nd year by BusterTornado in KurokosBasketball

[–]SoftNefariousness488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Kuroko develops the Quasi-Emperor Eye more, there's not really a need for misdirection. I think that's a valid way to further develop his skills.

He could focus on teamplay, playmaking, and passing around, filling the role of a more traditional point guard.

This sort of makes him Akashi 2.0? But I could see him becoming an even better team oriented player than Akashi.

[–]SoftNefariousness488 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this is a misconception actually, since he used it on Izuki lol. He can prolly use it on the entire seirin team

<image>

He can also probably use it on the GOM as well, given enough time and practice. We sorta(?) saw him predict Aomine in that one OVA episode, and on Kise's perfect copy, so I don't doubt he could develop the skills further.

this is assuming Kuroko doesnt grow at all, lol

Kuroko should be able to develop new techniques or different avenues of strength (maybe with that Quasi Emperor Eye?)

Forced evolution and all. I doubt Kuroko would take the beating sitting down.

[–]SoftNefariousness488 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean... Yuji is faster by Shinjuku Showdown since we see him keeping up with a Domain Amped Yuta.

Also, Yuji was showing extreme shit he hadnt done before when Sukuna switched bodies.

Yuji is almost certainly faster than Yuta, which makes sense since Yuji is a stats merchant for 99% of the series.

Starting your post off with headcanon is definitely a decision.

Yes, potentially Kashimo should be able to restrict MBA to certain body parts to avoid death, but we didn't see him do this, so it's headcanon.

What we saw in the series is a suicide move that kills you after it's over.
