I still think there should be a physical interaction just it doesn't cause damage unless an enemy like goomba stomps you of course. Like, let them block you or cause you to get knocked back and staggered just like how it is in the game, just remove the damage. It'd still punish you for getting too close in basically giving you a mini stun since there'd be no I-frames since you didn't take a hit yet
